A 2 axis lathe can perform any operation that doesn't involve the y- axis. Example: the diameter of the stock in relation to the center point of the material driver is known as the x-axis. The length in which the tool travels along the material, towards the driver or away from the driver is the z-axis. If this makes sense. It can do everything possible for a cylindrical shape.

What is diffrent between lathe machin & cnc machin

A Lathe machine turns a piece to be worked on usually along its longest axis. An operator or machinist manually moves a cutter or other tool against the rotating piece to remove and/or polish the material to a more refined state. Instead of manually, a Lathe can be controlled by computer with the speed of rotation and positioning of the cutter or other tool being done according to a program or set of numeric data in which case the Lathe would then be a CNC machine. A CNC machine can refer to any computer controlled machine which uses a set of numeric data to determine its operation which can be cutting, drilling, milling, etc.
For a more comprehensive description go to Wekipedia for Lathe at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lathe
and for CNC at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numerical_control

Brake lathe chattering bad

There's a lot of reasons why a brake lathe chatters during a cutting operation. They range from lack of maintenance, adjustments, cutting speeds, wrong cutting tools and so on and so forth.

Be a little more specific.

What kind of machine are you using?
What are you cutting? (rotors? drums?)
Are you using the proper silencers?

Come back with some answers please.

If you live near a machine shop any lathe operator can steer you in the right direction, or you could call them. I'm not certain if Ammco is still in business. I had the same machine in my shop in 1976, not the same model # of course, but a model with the stand.
