Question about Computers & Internet
Perhaps the battery is giving out and needs replacing ? Open Control Panel, Power Options, Set to High Performance, Adjust Advanced Power Settings, Sleep and Hibernate to Never, others to your preference. When you are on battery the machine will shut down or minimize processes to save power. My guess would be you have to many running programs. Perhaps malware or a Virus. There are two freeware programs that will help. 1, MALWAREBYTES at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHeck the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL Scan, Delete ALL results. 2, Download CCLEANER at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program will clean the junk from your machine. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, disable ALL unnessary startup programs. UNINSTALL ALL TOOLBARS they are killers on broswer speed. I had the same problem with my hp pavilion dv4 1430 and to fix it I just took out the battery and unplugged it from the power adapter and pushed the power button and waited for a few minutes I put it all back together and started it up and the screen turns right back on.

Overheating is one of the frequent causes of freezing and other errors in your HP Laptops. So, if your laptops keeps freezing then the first and the most important thing that you would have to check is whether your fan is working or not. If your fan is not working then you would have to buy a cooler pad for your HP laptop. The cooler pad which sits under your laptop would prevent it from getting overheated.
