Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost always, your described problem could be addressed by performing an initial setup/configuration. This is better done after the unit has been left unplug for an extended period of time; the purpose of which is to revert it to factory defaults.

Of course the original remote control would be needed. The same would also hold true if you are using a receiver box with composite/component outputs.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Have you tried resetting the tv at all? The easiest way is to unplug it overnight and see if it ceases to be a problem. Is anything else also not working, as other problems would help narrow down a faulty component.

Resetting a tv is easy, A hard reset is just removing all power from the device for a set amount of time, with a tv, usually 8 hours or overnight ensures a reset which is what I recommend first trying.

How do I get closed captioning on a Samsung TV model TXJ2754?

Hello

Your TV displays the closed captions that are broadcast with some

television shows. These captions are usually subtitles for the hearing

impaired or language translations. All VCRs record the closed caption

signal and most pre-recorded commercial video tapes provide closed

captions. Check for the closed caption symbol in your television

schedule and on the tape's packaging: .

1 Press MENU repeatedly until you see the Setup menu. Press CH
to select "Caption."

2 Press VOL+ to open the Closed Caption menu.

3 Press VOL + to turn closed captioning on.

Misspellings and odd characters can occur in captioning. Also, there may be a

captioning delay after changing channels. Neither situation is a TV malfunction.

4 Press CH to highlight "Mode." Press - VOL or VOL + to choose

"Capt." (captions) or "Text." In caption mode, captions appear and

cover a small portion of the picture. In text mode, information unrelated

to the program, such as news reports, are displayed and
often cover a large portion of the screen.

5 If you wish, use CH , CH , or VOL + to change the captioning

channel or field. Then, press DISPLAY to return to normal viewing.

Different channels and fields display different information, such as additional
languages or supplemental information

Sometimes more than one button pushed [same time] on the tv itself can create an undesireable mode or setting. You may need an original remote to correct this. Contact Orion Sales at 1 800 289 0980

translation of the primary language in your area).
Note: If the program or video you selected is not closed captioned,
no captions will display on the screen.
• To view text, highlight T1, T2, T3, or T4.
Note: If text is not available in your area, a black rectangle may appear on your screen. If this happens, turn the Closed Caption feature OFF.
