SOURCE: viking husqvarna classica 100, thread tension

I suspect you are correctly threading the machine but the timing of the needle and bobbin hook is off. When the threaded needle goes into the bobbin area, a pointed hook grabs the thread and loops it with the bobbin thread. Something is catching when the needle starts to come up that is not allowing the bobbin thread to be pulled back through the needle plate opening by the upper thread. With machine threaded and bobbin in place, have the bobbin area open if possible and watch the thread interaction when the needle goes down. To set the hook/needle timing, normally covers have to be removed. Suggest taking it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for service. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at
Good luck.

SOURCE: husqvarna optima 620 feed dog won't stay raised

If you have switched to "UP" position and turned handwheel one full revolution with no result it may be that
1. There is lint under the needleplate preventing it from rising fully....clean it out !!
2. There is damage to the linkage and will need to go in for visual appraisal by technician....ask for a quote on repair before they do anything.

SOURCE: Husqvarna embroidery diamond machine not cutting

If the cutter is not moving when the cutter motor runs, there is probably a gear loose in the cutter mechanism. Take the machine to the dealer that you purchased it from, or the nearest authorized dealer.

Make sure that you have your warranty card and purchase receipt. If a gear has broken, the mechanism is warrantied to the original owner for 20 years.
If you are the second owner, or the machine was purchased online instead of through an authorized dealer, an authorized dealer will give you an estimate for parts and labor and repair the problem for you.

How to change under tension on Husqvarna optima 190 selectronic

The bobbin has a tiny screw on the side that is the tension setting. Turn it a slight 1/8 turn and test (a small turn makes a big adjustment). Be sure to mark the original setting of the screw before making any adjustments so you can back out the adjustments if it's not working.

I have a Husqvarna Optima 120 The needles are being bent forward at the bottom. They start hitting the metal foot/feed dog and snapping. What does the knob on the far left end of the machine do?

First, check that you are installing the needle correctly. The needle has a flat part and it is important that the flat part be installed facing the correct direction. Inserting it incorrectly will offset the needle position and cause the needle to strike. (Be Careful--flying broken needles can be dangerous--for you and your machine! Wear eye protection.)

If the needle is hitting the presser foot, you might try a different foot. The one you are currently using could be damaged or may not be made for your machine.

If you are sewing thick materials, be sure you are using a heavier needle made for leather or denim. The heavier needle is less likely to bend as it pierces the fabric. (Likewise, you will probably want to use a heavier thread as well.)

Also, be sure that you are NOT pulling or pushing the fabric through the machine. That will frequently cause the needle to bend and strike.

The knob on the left may be the presser foot pressure adjustment. It is adjusted to increase or decrease the presser foot pressure on the feed dogs in order to better feed heavier- or lighter-weight fabrics through the machine.

Would like to get a owners manual for my husqvarna 190 selectronic sewing machine. I am having trouble with upper tension and need to make sure I am threading it properly, any suggestions

Here's an ebay that has one for $ 15.00. There are others.

Generic threading:
1. Go from right to left.
2. As you feed you will come to the tension. Make sure it is fed through the tension disc or it won't work.
3. Feed through the take up lever.
4. Feed through the final holes to the needle. Final little pull to check for snags.
5. Put pressure foot down and give little tug. It should have some resistance, but not excessive. Usually four on the tension control is a good starting point.
6. Check your bobbin for pressure. Pull out the bobbin case and let it hang from your finger with the bobbin inserted. While you bob it back and forth it should extend one inch. Adjust the tension as you need to. Put one drop on the little ring under the case. (It looks like a race track).
7. As you use the machine you may have to adjust the upper tension as you need.

I filled the Bobbin, now how do I get it to go back to sewing

Something didn't click back in place when you removed the bobbin from the winding mechanism. Try winding another bobbin. Make sure it stops, then remove it. If the problem continues, take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. They should still be able to take a look at it. Check Husqvarna Viking website for dealer closest too you.
