Cant access HITACHI TRAVELSTAR 5K250 HTS542516K9SA00 160GB drive

If the drive cannot be accessed then the logic board on the hard drive is toast. U can remove the sata drive and install it into a working desktop with sata connections and see if the desktop recognizes it.

When installing on another computer, make sure that you are still booting up from the working sata drive originally there. If you change the bootup sequence to the allegedly non working drive and it does work you may corrupt the operating system in the bootup process. Just put it in there and see if the other computer boots up and recognizes it. Often if a hard drive is really bad the defective unit will prevent a good working computer from booting up at all.

What can i do for my laptop, when i turn it on the XP splash screen displays, and then it just goes blank, no cursor, but it is still running

try booting into safe mode. hit the f8 key during bootup to get that option and see if safe mode works fine. If it does, then the problem is a bad or corrupt video driver. The display itself could be going bad, also, but that seems less likely if you can see the splash screen every time. If you cant boot into safe mode, you may have corrupt OS and need to do a repair install.

No bootup 1-2min if windows opens very unstable or reboots contin

That sure does sound like a power supply issue, you should be able to take it to any local computer shop and have the power supply tested, if it's not the power supply I would look at the motherboard.

I must have hit a wrong button and my presario 2100 went in to hybernation. I have tried everything to get it on and it will not go on now. I even unplugged the power cord for a while and it still wouldn't...

press F8 on bootup and look for an option asking to "delete the hybernation data and proceed with normal bootup". if not found then select <last good bootup" if that also fails then boot in safe mode. On bootup, go to Start->All Progs->Accessories->Sys Tools->Restore. And restore to a previous date when your PC was working absolutely fine.

When waking from hybernation - woulnd't boot for 2 minutes

Hello ccc9294,

The system may be trying to restore the browser last settings (including tabs) when resuming from hybernation. Try closing the browser before going into hybernation. Then check to see how long the system takes to resume from hybernation.
If the system still takes too long then look at task manager (Control+Alt+Delete keys). Check the processes to see which ones may be taking up too much cpu or memory resources. It may be a system security application like McAfee or Symantec working in the backgound while coming out of hybernation.

I thank you for giving a rating to this solution if it has been helpful.

Have a great day,

Toshiba Satellite A55-S306 doesn't come out of hybernation

Turn the PC on, when it is booting up, keep hitting "F8" until windows boot options come up, choose "Safe Mode" and then once it boots into safe mode fully, go to the start menu and choose shut down. After it shuts down, turn it back on and it should go back into normal mode. From now on, don't use Hibernate, its buggy and has been since XP.

If your computer will turn on, get to the page where you have the options on how to boot the computer. Slect the option to boot from your hard drive. If it still will not boot up, then you are probably going to just have to repair your OS or do a clean install of your OS.

I cant uninstall spy doctor 5.5

Boot into Safe Mode... Do this by repeatedly pressing the F8 key upon bootup... you will come to a screen with bootup choices... choose boot to safe mode (the first choice)
then go to your Ad/Remove Programs from the control panel.. and proceed to uninstall... then reboot Normally..
