Where on my dell inspiron/1200 do i insert sandisk

Do you mean an 8GB SanDisk USB flash drive (thumb drive) or memory card (SD card or another type) or another SanDisk product?

If you have a flash drive, plug it into one of the 3 USB ports on the back of the laptop. If you have other devices plugged in, you may need a USB hub to add ports. (Note: hubs can fail; try a direct connection if the unit doesn't communicate.)

If you are using a memory card, you need to add a memory card reader. USB card readers are available from many shops; they will be cheaper from some online vendors compared to the big box electronics stores. Get one that supports the format of your memory card. There may be PC card slot card readers but I'm not aware of any specific models. The Inspiron/1200 supports Type I or Type II CardBus devices; 16-bit PCMCIA cards are also supported.

If you have a different item, please add a comment giving more informatiion on which SanDisk product you are connecting to the computer. I hope this helps.

Aiptek Sd card compatible Problems

Some Aiptek cameras work with SD and SDHC cards, some work only with SD cards. If you have one of the latter, make sure your card is an SD card, not an SDHC card. The two card types are physically identical but electronically different.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply to this post. But be sure to specify the model of your Aiptek camera, as well as the type and size of your memory card.

Can't seem to get nextech memory stick to fit into IBM computer

Hello wswarts547,
It's possible that the module of memory you have is not the right type for the motherboard you are trying to put it in.
There are different types of memory. (DDR, DDR2, DDR3, and SO-DIMM is for Laptops)
Each has a not or two in different places that prevent installing the wrong type into the wrong socket. Check the specifications of the motherboard and make sure you have the correct module type.
Hope this helps!

Is there any way to retrieve data from a memory card that cannot be detected on any device? Is there a place you can send it to retrieve the data?

You can get a converter for the tiny chip at the local big box electronics store (in our area, Best Buy).

It will take the small micro and put it into a different type of device with a USB port that attaches to your computer, then you can download the pictures.

Also, if this is the chip out of your phone, you can also buy a device that will attach to your phone and USB to your computer so you do not have to remove the chip.

How to use a memory stick right from the start

  • Understand how a Memory Stick Pro works. The small card saves information from a portable device. You can save, delete and rewrite to the card as many times as you want. You can also remove the card and insert it into another device. For example, you can save photos from a camera, then insert the memory card into your laptop to view or download the images.
  • Step 2 Make sure you buy a memory card that matches the demands of your electronic device. The cards have different saving speeds and data-holding capacities. Generally speaking, the more data the card can hold and the faster its speed, the more expensive the memory card. Check your electronic device's product information for recommendations on the best type and size of memory card.
  • Step 3 Insert the Memory Stick Pro into the electronic device. Most devices have a small flap or cover on its side that holds the card. The memory card slides into a slot under the flap. Gently push in the card and close the flap.
  • Step 4 Save to the memory card. Once the card is installed, many devices know to save new data to the card. In some cases, however, you may need to specify where to save files, either to a built-in hard drive or to the memory card.
  • Step 5 To remove the card, open the flap and gently press the card in. The card should then pop out of the slot for easy removal. The card can now be inserted into another device.

    Pda newbie - memory question

If you are referring to the difference between Compact Flash and Secure Digital memory, then there is no difference, except the format. By providing two different memory slots, you are able to install more memory, or use one slot for memory, while using the second slot for other peripherals, like network cards, modems, or wireless cards.
