Re: I have a quickdock.
You have a Gateway laptop, only HP and Compaq computers have Expansion Port 3 because that port is a registered trademark under HP which also owns Compaq so that is why. Sorry you should sell it though, if its new it runs around $60. Hope I Helped!

1. battery is old and can't recharge.

There is a WLAN, a wireless internet connection card for this computer and connecting your webcam should be as easy as plugging it into your USB port and using the disk it came with to activate it. If the picture is correct on this question, you need an adapter from you local computer store. The adapter will likely be about 5 to 20 dollars, and this will allow you to plug it into a USB port after you attach the adapter.
I would recommend that you undock the laptop, go into the Printers and Faxes console, and delete the printer. Then, dock the laptop, connect the USB cable to the dock and then re-install the printer through the dock. The USB ports on the laptop are assigned different hardware values than the PCI interface of the dock, and if the laptop is trying to print to a local USB port, it may not find the printer if it's connected through a PCI interface like the dock. That'd be my next move.
It sounds like you are setting up your new laptop to connect to your cable modem. If that is correct, your laptop should only have one ethernet port. The other port should be for the modem, but it does look very similar to the ethernet port. I would highly suggest getting an inexpensive router to place between your laptop and your cable modem. The routers come with detailed instructions on how to connect it to the cable modem and the computer. This will provide 2 things for you. The first is ease of connection, and the second is protection from all of the bad stuff on the Internet.
