Re: computer freezes up (Hangs)

On Vista it's not working cuz u don't have propper driver installed for ur printer, as for PC freezing, chek printer's settings in XP, if it's set to print imidiatelly and not spool print jobs first, it could be ur problem.

I watch a documentary recently called planned obsolescence and a russian hacker reported finding a chip in his printer that would count the number of print and then lock up once a certain number was reached. This printer was by no means cheap and I was expecting high quality product (something that would last) I think that this printer adopts these malware techniques. The joys of capitalism means companys have zero incentive to offer you products that last. So sick of scumbag corporations
Not to mention how many time I have had to align the printer heads (nearly every time I turn it on)

I have a HP OfficeJet G85 all in one machine. Just changed the colour cartridge for a HP original one. First alignment page was good showed all colours. The first time i used it it would not print red it...

Have you any applications like deep freeze installed on your computer machine? If so uninstall it restart your computer and try to print again. The fact is some programs cause colour malfunction in the computer. The similar scenario I encountered, I had to format the system for the colours to print correctly again. But i have seen where deep freeze cause similar issues before.

Good luck & God bless!

"File ImageCach.ic could not be accessed"

The Canon Program "CD-Label Print" has issues with Windows 7.

I solved it this way:

  1. Find the "CDLabelPrint.exe" most likely under "C:\Program Files\CD-LabelPrint"
  2. Right-Click on the File and choose Properties
  3. Select "Compatibility" and tick "Run Program ... Windows XP (SP3)"
  4. Push "OK"
  5. You should be fine now

CANON ip 4300 - 5100 error & prints skew onto DVD

I had this eror. It was caused by indexing error left to right.Would print some then cancel after starting to make clunking and left to right error gets to large.(white edge up the side of full page print).
There is a toothed print head carriage drive belt and a clear indexing strip above the heavily white greased bar behind print head carriage.
If this clear indexing strip gets grease or anything else on it the print head cannot index.
With print head at full right position, power off, I carefully wiped the clear strip by pinching between clean dry fingers and wiping up and down the strip a few times, maybe use cotton wool buds and IPA or methalated spirit if you can't get your fingers in there without breaking the strip. then with power on print head in change cartridge position, push carriage to far left and wipe right side of clear strip.I pushed carriage full left to right a few times,Then ran print head alignment.Fixed without taking apart.
