Question about HP Computers & Internet

Is there a wireless and bluetooth combination module

Laptop is an HP 9013cl with wireless card installed. Want to add bluetooth capability. The module installed is HP 412766-001. The bluetooth card part # is HP 412766-002. Is there a way to have both a wireless connection and bluetooth in this laptop model? I have seen HP 397922-001 known as multi unit module, bluetooth adapter. Does this module have the ability to perform both wireless and bluetooth combined into one?

the answer is sure, some PC sold by HP, and for sure laptops

This only applies to specific models, so ask HP.
answer 2 is buy a usb thingy,, blue tooth mines like f1/2 a finger nail long and fits on any pc made with USB jacks.. blue tooth add ons
are super best way to add it. and way cheaper too.

SOURCE: wireless capabilities

hit the Function key (usually "Fn") then F2 should work. Also on most Fujisu's the wifi button is some where around the top left might want to try that also with or without Fn.

let me know if everything works out, also please take the time to rate me!

SOURCE: no wireless capability

If your model does not have wireless capability, even if you had a switch on the machine, if there is no internal wireless card you can't make this wireless. My suggestion would be to purchase a PCMCIA or USB wireless card that you can load to your system to make this wireless capable.

Or maybe it's a bad Bluetooth/Wireless Module; in the laptop, lol!

Radio Frequency Interference or Electro Magnetic Interference, I can see from an outside source..........but Blue screen too?

Leads me to believe a bad hardware component.........

See the gold plated contact pins on the bottom?
FOLLOWING Anti-Static Procedures, a pencil eraser is used to clean those contact pins. BOTH sides.

If using an eraser on the end of a pencil, and not a solid eraser; refrain from letting the metal band on the pencil, touch the gold plated contact pins.

Rub up and down, and back and forth; on all contact pins.
Doesn't take much pressure, nor rubbing, to make a clean contact surface.
(Doesn't take much 'corrosion', to make a bad contact surface)

Use air to remove the eraser dust. You can use a can of compressed air for computers, if available; or air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.

Also clean the copper area (Holes) where the mounting screw/s go through.

Also clean the Terminals. Main and AL I

Try to clean the connectors on the wires that go to the Wireless/Bluetooth Adapter card, also.

(Wireless Antenna wires)

Reinstall Wireless/Bluetooth Module. Reconnect Wireless Antenna wires. (Properly)

If this does not resolve the issue, then suggest replace Wireless/Bluetooth Module.

Agree that I am 'going out on a limb' with these statements.

Could be something else. May be damage to the LCD Cable. (Video Cable)
Causes 'blue screen'.

Trying to correlate blue screen, and RFI/EMI interference; is a tough job; over the internet.

Laptop was in front of me, I would look for damage to the Wireless Antenna wires, first.
They loop under the right Hinge, and are just as prone to damage, as the Video/LCD Cable is.
(The Video Cable, or LCD Cable if you prefer; routes under the left Hinge)

No apparent signs of damage to the Wireless Antenna wires, (Visual inspection), I would remove the Wireless/Bluetooth Module, and clean contacts as stated above.

Blue screen occurs again, I would look into the Video Cable.

Video Cable connections are tight, then I would perform a continuity test on the Video Cable. Multimeter set to OHM's (1K), and check every wire in the Video Cable for continuity.
(Assistant for gently wiggling the cable, as Continuity test is performed. Checks for Broken/Stretched wires. Multimeter reading fluctuates when cable is gently wiggled, you know you have a broken wire)

A bad graphics chipset, will knock a laptop to it's knees. (Turns off)
Thinking is a bad Wireless/Bluetooth module, can do the same.
Knock the laptop to it's knees far enough, that no graphics are shown. There is also RFI/EMI interference, and this goes along with my thinking, that there are bad contact surfaces, or bad Wireless/Bluetooth Module.

Just my 2cents

Regards,
joecoolvette
[You open that laptop far enough to access the Wireless/Bluetooth Module, you better be wearing an ESD wrist strap; and have it's alligator clip attached to a good ground source.

Otherwise you will Static shock out the laptop, and have an expensive paperweight.
Average cost is $3 to $6 ]

Hp dv6 no wireless capability - light will not go to blue from organe on f12 key press it says wifi off again wifi disabled

When you pulled the Wireless Module, then reinstalled it; you made Windows find the Drivers, again.

[When a new device is installed, Windows 'breaks it's neck' to find suitable matching drivers.
You reinstalled the Wireless Module, and made Windows think it was a new device ]

The wire terminals can 'corrode'. (It's gold plating, and gold isn't supposed to corrode. Just a term I used to explain)

The terminals on the Wireless Module can also 'corrode'.
Try using a pencil eraser on those two contact 'pins'.

The connections of the wires to Wireless Module, MUST be tight.
Can swivel if you move the wire, but not seem loose.

(That is with ALL power removed to laptop. AC adapter {Charger}, and Battery )

Still persists? Suggest new Wireless Modem Card.

joecoolvette

The easiest option for you is to buy a Bluetooth dongle. It connects via USB, and if you get a compact one like the one in the image below you won't even notice it on the laptop. You can get one from Ebay, they are dirt cheap, under $2.

Sometimes on laptops there is a access panel on the bottom of the laptop that when you take them off will show slots for inserting additional ram, wireless network, modem and bluetooth modules. If you can look and see you may find that your laptop has the capability for bluetooth, but may need a card installed. If your laptop does not then you could always buy a usb bluetooth like the one here: http://www.cellularfactory.com/laptop/ACER/4/31883/518537/

How to enable bluetooth on hp pavillion laptop

Hey there,

If your particular model of HP has the bluetooth installed from the factory, turning on the wireless switch on the front left edge of the laptop enables the bluetooth, as well as the wireless LAN. A bluetooth icon should appear in your taskbar, near the clock, when bluetooth is turned on. Most of the cheaper versions of the DV6000 series do not come with the bluetooth module installed. The module can be ordered from HP Parts and installed by the end user, if they have a little computer know how. You would then download and install the bluetooth software pack that is available on HP's support website.

Hope this will help to resolve your issue with Bluethooth..

Cheers!!!!!
