Speaker The sound is distorted in my ESD-9200 any ideas where I can find a new speaker.The # on the speaker is SM-3608A

    the uk snooper uses the same speaker. snooper vcan supply spares at £9.99.

Call Cobra @ 773.889.3087 Just ordered me a couple of these speakers they used to be $21 + shipping They now sell them for approx $3 bucks plus a dollar something for shipping.

Sounds like polarity is wrong on one of the speakers?
you have to make sure the speaker's are connected properly (positive out to positve in negative out to negative in)

call cobra at 773 889 3087 you can purchase a new speaker for a few dollars it is very simple to install remove four screw on bottom of detector pop out the actual board and unplug the speaker and simply plug in the new one but be careful when taking apart the detector it is all plastic and there are clips that can be easily broken .

773-889-3087 they only last about a year and a half they are very easy to install .plug and play

Distorted, cracked sound coming through to the speakers
is it possible your new reciever has a built in phono pre-amp?

If so, you need to switch off the pre-amp inside the turntable (lift up the rubber matt, and rotate the plate untill you see the switch at the back)

Laptop speakers not working
Hi you can try this:

From Start, go into Control Panel, then select Sounds, Speech & Audio devices, then Sounds and Audio Devices again.

On Volume tab, click on Advanced. Now choose Laptop stereo speakers. This may sort out the problem. Try the other options if they still don't work.

First things First
1) you got a 5.1 sound card?
2) Direct X 9.c installed?
3) On control panel and multimedia, change to 2 speakers, that should work.
ano other than these is a bad pair of speakers! time to buy new ones.
