What is the trick. I can't get belt on, just keep chasing around from pulley to pully.

well before we can tell you the trick , what say you give us some details
like--- what are you trying to put the belt on , make model , year, flat belt , grooved belt , toothed belt, what do the belts drive etc
comment with these details and some one may have an idea as to how to do it

Loud bang at the start of the spin cycle followed by drum not rotating. Suspect drive belt failed?

You're probably right. I don't remember whether this particular model has an access hatch on the back, if it does, replacing the belt should be fairly straightforward. First put the belt around the motor pulley, then use a screwdriver or similar to lever and roll the belt onto the drum pulley.

How to change a washing machine belt

Unplug machine. Remove back panel. loosen three nuts holding motor clutch assembley from bottom side of motor mounting plate with deep well socket, allowing motor mounting plate to slide. Remove clamp holding flexible drive coupler just above belt. Remove belt. Reverse to install, but remember to give a little tension to the belt by holding motor toward the back left corner while tightening up nuts. Tighten the nut closest to the center of the machine first.

Go to a local store and buy a new belt. They are can be hard to replace but the salesman/woman should be able to tell you what to do. You have to take the drum out and put it back in. Just remember when taking something apart like that you HAVE TO put it back in the same way you took it out.

Putting together the car seat

Most car seats either are woven through a metal feed in the back of the carseat you can undo by pulling apart the teeth and fishing the belt out....just remember how it was woven through the clasp. Others will be looped onto a metal hook in the back in which case you simply slide the loop of the belt off the hook. This should be fairly simple as they are usually designed to be unhooked so as the baby grows the belt can be moved up to higher shoulder slots. Feel free to respond after examining the back of the seat.
