Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range
I have a gas Kenmore stove which features a lockout system for the burners and oven when no electricity is present to operate the igniters.
We are expecting a power outage of many days due to an ice storm. Is there any way to bypass this lockout and light the stove manually.

you can unplug the stove and plug it back in that will take the looking position. and in other models, set the oven to clean the oven for 5 minotes, and it will go of and will relace the oven door.

was it the correct igniter.almost always the ge ignitors are round.this is how it works.the ignitor pulls enough current thru it to garentee that their is a good source of ignition 4 the gas to leave the oven safty valve.to meaurse the value of the ignitor you need an amp probe.you would meaurse a good ignitor at about3.2to3.5 amps a strong ignitor will glow very, very brite

The glow bar for the bake burner is bad, needs to be replaced. Remove oven bottom to get to it, and also the utility drawer.

Dec 14, 2013 | Stoves Kitchen Ranges
Hello Larry D Harris - Does any part of the range work? I would recommend verifying that a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc. Another questions, does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. If so, press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Do the maintop burners work? Granting that it does, you can try confirming that the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position (usually located on the back left-hand side of the range). This valve shuts off gas to the oven. If after the basic troubleshooting, you continue to experience the issue I would suggest contacting a certified technician to assist in the full diagnosis and repair of your range.

To lock/unlock the controls: Turn all surface burners off.
Touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until the display shows LOC.
To unlock the control, touch and hold the GAS/CONTROL LOCKOUT pad for 3 seconds until LOC disappears from the display.
