Does anyone know where the model number is located? There is a metal plate on the front underneath that has a Ser# ER 143407 and a Cat. # SU4-D and a listing for the Volts and K.W. However, nothing that says Model #. I've tried looking underneath the cooktop but I can't see anything so far.

take off the knobs, unscrew the plastic underneath the knobs, take off the plastic cover. unscrew the four metal screws holding the the display panel on. remove the 5 silver screws across the top inside of the plastic cover front and the 2 black ones on the lower left and right sides. remove the to stainless steal stews on the sides of the stove towards the rear top. these should allow you to remove the cover once you unplug the two cables going into the burners.

Model Number is always helpful when
This part should still be available from a local parts outlet. You'll need model and serial and color. Model and serial are located underneath the unit on its bottom. You won't like the price. Good Luck
Don't really need a wiring diagram, although there may be one inside switch area. (make sure to put it back again if it is there) Will need the full model number to get you the part number you need. (model number usually on a sticker near where the electrical wire enters the cook top)
Turn off power to cook top. Open cover to switches. Pull two "pilot" (usually smaller spade terminals) off the switch for the right front burner, and insulate each with a bit of electrical tape. Turn power back on to see if light now off. If yes, replace that switch. If no, replace those wires and repeat procedure with the next switch until you find the bad switch. Send a comment if you need additional help.
The cook top should be bolted to the counter. Look under and look for brackets that attach the bottom of the cooktop to the sides of the counter. and also the model number should be somewere underneath. If you can get me the Model number I can get you the maintenance manual in PDF format.
