Do i have to buy download just to use it?

You have to download the program first.

Download it to your computer and then drag & drop it to your player.

Try to restart the Zune using this procedure:

If this does not work then you can try resetting it to Factory Defaults:

Only do this if absolutely necessary, all content will be erased from the Zune. Not a huge deal if you have it all on your PC with the Zune software but still a last resort.

If neither of these work then you have a hardware problem.

Buy the Zune A/V kit and hook it up to a non used rca port on the back. Look for the older ones for the 30 gb units, they are much cheaper than the new ones and it takes 10 seconds to modify them to use on the newer units. The A/V kit has 3 rca plugs, one for sound and 2 for video. If you pick a source that can play video and sound on your receiver, then the screen on the zune will display on your television. The A/V kit has a remote with it also so you can control the zune from the room. I have not tried it, but since the Zune remote is IR then if you have a good all in one remote, such as a harmony, you may be able to program the codes from the Zune remote into it and even be able to control your stereo and Zune from one remote. This is a fatal error porblem. If you go to the Zune Microsoft website you will find many others have the same problem. There is no fix for it as of yesterday afternoon. We have had problems with our 30 and 8 gb Zunes and finally returned then to Best Buy and got IPods.

uhm i think i may have found your solution, that is if your using limewire or some client of the sort, i synced my zune while the program (limewire) was on and downloading music and i had the same problelm you did so i simply deleted all my music and put it back on the zune while limewire was off and now it works fine, i have an 80 gig btw if that matters

buy I'm too zune. it's a great program & very easy to use I have about 8 movies in my 30 gb zune. just go in to their web site & read the instructions there is a try out period. buy it will only down load half of your videos. but it is only to try it out.
