Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W3000 52 in. LCD Television

3 Answers

Picture problem I have a Sony Bravia KDL-52W3000 52" about 1 year old. Has been a great tv till now. Now when I turn the tv on in the morning There is ghosting on the left side of the screen and 2 verticle white lines across the middle. Then after about 5 minutes of warm up they go away and all is fine. Any clues as why this might happen???

Same issue as above... 2 or 3 horizontal lines with ghosting images in between.  Fades to a normal picture about halfway across the screen.
Problem does go away after a little time... usually.

Did you find out anything about it, Ray?

    Thanks!

I have the same problem with a 46" Bravia XBR5. The picture clears up completely after a few minutes, but the warm up time has been getting longer.

    Ray,
Was the repair man able to fix it onsite?
While I did get the extended warranty, it was from Tweeter. Now that they've gone bakrupt, I probably need to find a Sony-authorized repair man.

Hi,
raystratton

I was wondering if you were able to solve this issue. i am having the same exact issue with my tv. and i did not get an extended warranty thinking that nothing would go wrong with a sony tv. i learny my lesson the hard way. Can you please tell me what the tech told you or what you did to fix this problem. All your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks once again!!!

This is not a solution but a correction . I stated that there was vertical lines but that should be horizontal Lines. I am having a tech come tomorrow to look at it as it is still under waranty.
Thanks

My lg plasma tv is cutting off the edges of the shows we are watching. I cant find a setting that will take care of it. Can you help

hmm normally these settings are found in the picture settings of the set top box or just a setting in the tv's picture settings now there might be an option to say fill screen that may work best for some or leave the tv in 16:9 some broadcasts may only be in 4:3 at times this is normal broadcasting and not much can be done unless the setting on the picture option is set to fill screen

Sony Bravia flat screen TV when turned on has black screen. Green light on the bottom is lite up, electric plug is plugged into house socket, no picture only black screen.

If audio is OK, the fault is with its backlight section. If audio too is absent, the fault is with its digital main board. If you wish to get more details visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

I have pioneer plasma tv about 6 years old. I turned the power on, sound but no picture. Do you think it is worth fixing?

no
plasma tv units consume considerable power and the latest led units don't so for the extra cost of a new unit , there will be a power saving over the years
