Cheap oil-less compressor, normal.
If you don't like it, buy one that uses oil and a drive belt.

SOURCE: need to replace drain valve

The "welded nut" is the pipe fitting into which the drain valve or drain plug is screwed. It's usually brass and the valve or plug can be obtained through Sears or possibly and good harwarde store. Be sure to use pipe sealing compound or teflon tape on the threads when you re-install the valve or plug.

NOTE - THE AIR MUST BE DRAINED FROM THE TANK BEFORE REMOVING THE VALVE OR PLUG. ALSO, POWER SHOULD BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE COMPRESSOR!

SOURCE: Drain valve in Porter Cable air compressor

this valve works backwards, you screw it out to stop airflow. If that doesn't work, replace the valve.

SOURCE: champion vr3-8 auto drain blowing out when compressor turns off

If the air continues to come out on top of the drain valve well after the pump has stopped, you may have a faulty tank check valve where the pump discharge line enters the tank. when this valve sticks open it will cause this problem.

SOURCE: Was working normal suddenly will not build pressure

Maurader1 an apprentice has this problem solved and is spot on. All these gurus and wiz need to stick to the basic and common sense. The first place your pump will give out after use or abuse is the gasket. All this garbage about defective reeds and defective pressure switch is a lot of nonesense if you first don't rule out the most common problem the head gasket. I'm cheap and this thing has paid for itself 10 time over. You can get a gasket kit for $7, but I fabricated a gasket out of the back of my notebook and sprayed some gasket spray and been working like a charm ever since.

How do I take apart a dewalt d5141 compr3ssor?

This number is for the D20114 its the safety valve that can not be set to a max basic pressure .
its strange but its not adjustable it can be defect i have one time the same the experience there is not a adjustable Pressure Switch on this model , the moast compressors have a 8 to12 bar adjustable.pressure switch.
Very important This safety valve gives an electronic brake between the pump and to a end of top about 10 bar . if its not switching off then a drain valve opened . and blows all the air out. (but only over 10 bar ) the max pressure on the tank , the moast tools are working on a pressure from 6 to 8 bar.
-----------------------------------------

Checking Safety Valve
WARNING: Risk of bursting. If the safety valve does not work
properly, over-pressurization may occur, causing air tank rupture or
an explosion.
Before starting compressor, pull the ring on the safety valve to
make sure that the safety valve operates freely. If the valve is
stuck or does not operate smoothly, it must be replaced with the
same type of valve.
Draining Air Tank (Fig. 1)
WARNING: Risk of unsafe operation. Risk from noise. Air tanks
contain high pressure air. Keep face and other body parts away from
outlet of drain. Use safety glasses when draining as debris can be
kicked up into face. Use ANSI S12.6 (S3.19) ear protection as air flow
noise is loud when draining.
NOTE: All compressed air systems generate condensate that
accumulates in any drain point (e.g., tanks, filter, aftercoolers,
dryers). This condensate contains lubricating oil and/or substances
which may be regulated and must be disposed of in accordance with
local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
1. Ensure On/Off switch (A) is in the OFF position.
2. Move compressor into an inclined position so drain valve (H) is
at the lowest point (this will assist in removing moisture, dirt, etc.
from air tanks)
3. Place a suitable container under the drain valve to catch
discharge.
4. Grasp black lever on drain valve.
5. Slowly rotate lever to gradually bleed air from air tank.
6. When air tank pressure gauge reads 10 PSI (275.1 kPa), rotate
valve to the fully open position.
7. Close drain valve when finished

How many liters of compredssor oil to fill tha compressor tank

I don't know which model of air compressor you own, some models require no oil whatsoever. The important thing to remember is that you should never put oil inside the tank. While it probably won't damage the compressor and may, in fact, be good for air tools, oil does not belong in the tank. The tank itself should contain clean, dry, air ONLY. Depending on the job you're performing, oil and water in the air tank will ruin your hard work, especially if you are spray painting. The air compressor motor does require oil (unless, again, it's oilless), just fill it through the oil filler hole until it barely starts to leak out. You can change the oil every year if you use your air compressor professionally. Most people who use their compressor only occasionally never change their oil or even check the level. My compressor is a 20 year old Campbell Hausfield with the original oil. I don't recommend that, just stating the facts...I do religiously drain the water out of the tank with the drain valve, and I have replaced the drive belt. Once.

Air compressor drain valve produces brown liquid

There are two reasons for this, 1st water is staying in the tank too long and should be drained more often and 2nd is what no one wants to here, the unit may be passing oil by the rings. We know everything starts to wear out. My suggestion to fix this problem is to install an oil water separator and capture the liquid that comes from the bottom of the tank. The oil will separate from the water and allow water to go to the ground while capturing the oil.

Spray is pulsing

this is usually caused by:

1. water in pressure tank of the compressor - clean the compressor holding tank
2. faulty valve in direct drive compressor (rare!)
3. dirty needle/gasket in the piece.
4. insufficient air flow

regarding 1:
stop the compressor,
open drain on separator and let all liquid out
allow pressure to drop to atmospheric
open drain valve on the tank and drain the content
on the compressor body find oil drain and drain oil
fill with new oil according to instruction on your compressor
close drain valve on the tank and separator
start compressor and check if problem is solved

re 2:
return valve is too difficult to change without specific model knowledge

re 3:
fill 1/3 (pint/500ml or less container)gun container with paint stripper and spray it directly to the sink or other container on full blast - WEAR SAFETY MASK, GOGGLES AND GLOVES! STRIPPER WILL BURN YOUR SKIN!
fill same level with water or solvent and run again, this operation should remove most of residual paints in nozzles and pipes.
check now nozzle for cleanliness and needle assembly, clean what necessary, use bit of vaseline when you will put it back together.
check for consistency of spray on piece of butcher paper with your usual paint. if problem solved - you are fine!

re4;
increase air flow... this actually should be done first.

for better instruction - please provide with model of the gun and paint used.

your comment and rating will be appreciated.

Water in the air tank

I don't know about your specific unit, but my compressors have drain valves on the bottom. Mine is like an old radiator drain, but you could have quarter turn valves or screwdriver operated valves, etc. Take a look and post back.

Air leaking from oil fill tibe

Your check valve is stuck open allowing the air in the tank to flow back into the head. It's usually located on the tank side and can be disassembled and cleaned
Just follow the largest hose from your compressor to the tank and you will see it.

Oil is comming through outlet air in GA 160 Compressor

Does this compressor have a water trap? sounds like the condensate needs drained.
It is normal for all compressors to need drained now and then. Almost always there is a little oil in the water on compressors that have an oil lube system. If the water/oil isn't drained and it gets full to the oulet pipe so it is really coming out then you would have a big mess.
Look for a drain valve near the bottom of the tank. Usually the very bottom.
