Kenwood new sterio shuts off when turning up volume

Purchased a new Kenwood KDC-X692 with new kenwood speakers. When turning the volume up to 25 the radio is shutting off and then it'll turn back on and then go back off. Why is this doing this?

Thanks...I will look in to that also. This weekend I'm going to check this out. However , you would think if the facility who claims they hooked the wiring up correctly...this wouldn't be an issue for the second time of them looking at it. It is frustrating after you buy an all new system that has issues and not knowing for sure what the problem is. And certainly they want to charge me to look in to it. My only concern is if it is or could be the radio itself.

Thank you again....your suggestions are so appreciated.

You are so right. It is too bad that good customer service is hard to find. I'd rather shop with an independant company then a chain. Most times after you buy a product and walk out the door, the service stops there. If you have a problem they don't want to talk to you and if there is something that they can do or need to do, it'll cost you more money after the orig. purchase. This is where a business will lose that customer. Sorry to hear you've had to close your doors, especially since it sounds like you ran it as a business should be ran.

I'm thinking of going in there this weekend. I will pay them the money to prove it is what they say and if not, then they need to agree I will be refunded the money. Being they diagnosed the problem incorrectly and I've just wasted my money on paying them for a service that wasn't needed. If they want to agree with this, I'll have them do it. My thoughts are this is ridiculous and being it is a new purchase it should be looked at for FREE to keep me as a returning customer. Grrrrrrrr, I'm getting on my boxing gloves for the match.

Thanks again.....I'll let you know the results.

You may have a short in a speaker. Check to see that the wire terminals on the speaker itself aren't touching any metal. Even 1 terminal touching metal will cause issues. Hope this helps.

    Hi Maria,

Yes I couldn'yt agree with you more. Where is customer care anymore?? When I ran my business, I ALWAYS troublehooted my equipment for FRE as long as they owned it! Maybe tht's why I wound up closing after 10 year LOL!

We just installed the Kenwood KDC-X692 in our 1993 BMW 740il. The tuner works, but the CD has no sound and the AUX doesn't work either. I'm also confused on the bluetooth ready but lack of instructions...

i'm assuming you are going through an amplifier. if so it sounds like you are using the blue wire instead of the blue/white wire to turn the amplifier on. i can't really help you with the bluetooth though.

Deck shuts off, when loud, while idling or at stop lights.

You are working your deck to hard, it is overheating and shutting down (protection mode) You like it loud, you will need a 4 channel amp. Also check the ground on your deck to ensure it has a nice connection.
