If another account comes up, sign out of it by clicking the avatar in the upper-right then clicking "Sign out."

Have you tried restoring your password?
If yes, try making a new outlook.com account

Note - if you are using Messenger, please do uninstall it now. Soon it is going to be replaced by Skype.

Your account is currently active and i think you forgot your accound password. Try clicking 'forget password' link and then answer security questions/ personal details to reset password.

Click the "Can't access your account?" link on the Hotmail sign-in page.

Hotmail has these problems frequently, don't worry, they'll get it back up. I go thru this too.

Try the full 10 digit number and then try remove/add dashes or spaces.
