Replace the valve, and as long as you have let the unit sit for 24-36 hours since the water leaked, all should be OK. Make sure you look the unit all over for accumulated water and wipe up with a towel. If water sprayed on the timer, then use a hair dryer on it for 30-45 minutes until it no longer drips any water. Then again, allow 24-36 hours for it to dry out completely before reapplying power.

The washing machine leaks during filling?

The possibilities are as follows:-- Check the Air gap device and the Tube in the washing machine for leaking problem.
The air gap device is located at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. It’s made of translucent plastic. If the air-gap components worn out or cracks, it has to be replace.
Now if the Air gap device checks out ok. Then the other possible part to be checked is tube.
The tube is connected between the water-inlet valve and the air-gap. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.
These will help. Thanks.

My washer leaks sometimes when filling up.Now all the time could it be the pump?

Hello there
Depending on where the leak is coming from it could be anything from a hose that has came loose or is cracked or the tub seal could be going bad or yes it could be the pump or even the hoses that hook up to the machine could be leaking and even that part that the hoses hook up to on the machine can start to leak over time so i would try to tip the machine on its side AFTER YOU UNPLUG IT OF COURSE and inspect all hoses and the other items that i have mentioned and see if there is any wet spots any where in there ok then try to make the repairs as necessary and retest the machine ok
Hope this helps please feel free to rate this solution for me ok
Best regards Mike

Water leaks under machine when filling

Hello, if your washer leaks only when filling then you have to check these:
Air-gap device- The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.
THE TUBE - There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak
inlet spout- Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tube. If the spout cracks or breaks free of it's mounting, it can cause a leak.
Thanks

Our whirpool duet washer is leaking from the blue connector in the back. Also the machine came on briefly but no lights on at all and the plug is hot. We had the unit in storage in our garage while we...

sounds like the water inlet valve frozze and is cracked.remove the three screw's holding the top on,slide the top back and up to remove it.the water inlet valve is on the left back side,it is a blue valve.turn unit on and look at and around the valve to check for leak's.if it is cracked and leaks than replace the valve.

Water is leaking out from the bottom

If the washer leaks all the time, check these:
  • Water inlet valve: If water drips even when the washer is off, check the water inlet valve. It is located inside the washer at the back of the unit. The fill hoses are attached to it. Replace if deemed necessary.
  • Water fill hoses: Check the water hoses from the household plumbing. Tighten it or replace it as necessary..
  • Main tub seal: It is located between the transmission and the outer tub. To see the leak, fill the machine with water with small amount of detergent then open up the machine's main access panel.. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. The seal is difficult to replace and you probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.
  • Pump: You can spot the leak when the tub is full of water if the pump leaks. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. Replace it as necessary if it leaks.
  • Outer tub: The outer tub can rust, split, or be punctured. You may have to replace the entire tub but its not economical repair to do. Consult a qualified technician for details.
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:
  1. Air-gap device: It is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It is located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. It is usually made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you have to replace it.
  2. The tube: It is a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.
  3. Inlet spout: It is a plastic spout found on most washers near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

Leaks water when filling up.

If the washer is leaking only during the fill and not all the time, the problem is most likely caused by a faulty air gap device, a leaking water inlet valve, or the tube. The air gap is a small device that keeps the washwater from being siphoned into the household water supply. It is usually located mid-way or at the end of the black hose that comes from the water inlet valve. Usually it is made of transluscent plastic. Look for leaks or cracks.

The tube is a rubber tube that runs between either the water inlet valve and either the air gap or the inlet spout. Check for leaks.

The water inlet spout - most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the flow of water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free from it's mounting, it can cause leaks.

These are the things to look for if the washer is only leaking during fill. Hope this helps and best wishes.
