Loss of steam How do i Clean a Tefal FV 9230 Program 8 300

I have a tefal FV 9230 8 300 iron as well. I am finding white specks are coming out the vents everytime I use it - very annoying. I was wondering if there was a way I could clean it out on the inside to get rid of these? I was going to use a de scaler on it but the back of the descaler packet said not for use on Tefal products. I don't have the manual and can't find a good answer on the Tefal website. Any advice much appreciated.xx

SOURCE: tefal proline express steam generator iron needs de scaling

Make a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Fill up your iron and get it good and hot then let it sit a couple hours. flush out and repeat as necessary. Hope you find this helpful. Please give me a fixya rating If this works for you. It works very well as long as it is not completely filled with scale. Once you have it good and clean By a gallon of bottled water at the market and use that for your Iron and you will never have a scale problem again. I learned how to do this 20 years ago from a 80 year old woman from england. If it is really bad you can up the vinegar concentration but do not go higher than 2 cup to 1.

SOURCE: Not getting hot

The thermal cutoff device blew and must be replaced. It acts like a fuse when the iron gets too hot. Thay are very
cheap and it would be well worth replacing. Hope this was helpful.

SOURCE: Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator Iron

My Tefal is the same, steams for a while then nothing. I have tried to descale with no joy. I think it may be a problem with an internal thermostat that cuts out stopping the steam.

Any ideas????

We have a tefal ironing station and it has developed a fault the steam is continually on and the green light is continually flashing can u help

The problem is caused by a blockage in the steam regulating valve. try the 50:50 vinegar solution as described above, If this does not work then you need to take out the valve and clean. IT is pretty simple. Remove the bottom of the base station and you will see a rectangular box with tubes coming out of it. This is the steam valve. Dismantle and clean and you should be good to go. whole job should only take 15mins

I have a Tefal Protect GV9110 iron. Please please help me. It is not generating any steam. when press the steam button on the iron, it cuts off. if i leave it for a while, sometimes it generates steam

You probably have a mineral buildup in the iron which is blocking the water flow. Try putting a cup of white vinegar in it and run it through over the sink on the high steam setting and then the self clean setting. After you run the vinegar through, run two cups of plain water through to get the remnants of the vinegar out.

Tefal iron steam generator

Steam irons can become clogged with mineral deposits. Use distilled water in the iron to minimize these deposits.
To clean the iron , use 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. pour in iron and place iron on steam. The iron may require a few cleanings.

Tefal Gv8110 Steam Generator Iron no Steam

follow this steps. God bless you
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle (see below).
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

My tefal express 2941 steams constantly when switched on and cannot be stopped, please advise?

Fill the iron with 50/50 water and vinegar and let it steam for as long as it will. This will clean out the iron thoroughly, the green light will stop flashing and it will go back to normal. Then remember to clean your iron on a regular basis. Mine did!! Found this solution on another site
