Question about HP DG937A - HP Tablet PC TC1100 Tethered Pen (DG937ATABLETPEN)

1 Answer

HP TC1100 The power plug appears to be bad.(Or the battery?) When the adaptor is plugged in, the "plugged in" light does not light. Is it possible the battery is bad? If not, is the plug the likely issue? Can it be repaired? Do you have the parts?

I have to hold the power adapter in just the tight place in order for it to run or charge.

Try plugging in the tablet with the battery not installed. If there is no battery the tablet should turn on with just the AC adapter. If that works there might be a dead short in the battery and you would have to replace it

How to fix the charge port for my phone

You won't be able to, the first thing I would do is plug it in and gently lift the plug up then down and see at what position it starts charging.
I would also tray another charger, their cheap on amazon.

Ordered the PL800A (looks like it's identical to the UP-7116EA-81A-1) as I saw on a blog that it would work for all HP tablet PC's that have a digitizer. I have a HP Elitebook Revolve 810 G1 which HP says...

HP switch digitizers with the HP Revolve. Previous HP tc4xxx convertible tablets used a Wacom Digitizer, for the Revolve they are using a digitizer manufactured by Atmel. The change hasn't been well received as Atmel's performance has been horrible. If stylus performance is important to you, you would be better served with a different computer I'm sorry to say.

The only easily obtained stylus that is compatible with the Revolve is the HP Executive Pen but you have to be careful because the current HP Executive Pen featured on the HP website is for the G2 Revolve and it won't work with the G1.
The Part Number you need is H4E45AA I've included a link to CDW because their price was much lower than the price shown at Amazon

The stylus pen works by pressure on the tip. Since the tc1100 uses an active digitizer, as soon as you come within range of the screen, the mouse should move (this is called pen-hover), however, if the tip is stuck upwards it will write or click instead just as if you were touching the screen.

Try carefully pulling out the tip using a needle nose pliers or your fingernails if they're strong, and then reinsert the tip gently. This should un-stick it. If this doesnt work, there may be an internal problem with the stylus.
