JVC LT-22EM72 doesn't power up - no red power indicator, nothing. Power cord checked good. What to do or check next? What specific points on the controller can be checked with multimeter?

As per your description here, it sounds like a main power regulator board fault itself. Products powered by electricity should be serviced or repaired only by experienced professional technicians. Any attempt to service or repair the product by anyone else could result in serious injury or death. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock. Instead, contact the nearest service center. To get some details, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

Can someone please help me get my laptop working through HDMI cable onto TV on a sony VAIO VGN-FW23G. I need to know the process to do this

1. Check the computer for changing output (some computers use <F5>, <F8>, depending on which brand they are. I believe Sony uses <Function><F7> or <F7>).
2. Check what channel the HDMI port is on (e.g. AV1, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.) - you need to know this if your TV doesn't automatically switch to the new input.
3. Plug the HDMI cable into the TV HDMI cable-in port.
4. Plug the HDMI cable into the laptop HDMI cable-out port.

5. Turn on the computer.
6. Press the <Function><F7> simultaneously ONCE. The screen should flicker and show up on TV.
7. Sometimes you may have to go to "Display Preferences" and select Dual Monitors or external monitor if your computer doesn't do it automatically. Repeat Step 6 after.

** You may have to adjust Display Resolution to 1024 x 768 or lower in order for the TV to work. After it works at a lower display (800 x 600, for example), you can adjust the resolution to the maximum the TV can accept.

Audio on some TV channels/shows goes off. It varies by channel, sometimes national feed is silent, but local break-ins have sound. I have to set the Audio from A.F.D. to Movie to get audio. Sometimes I...

Not sure what this means: "The audio comes to the Cable box through coax cable." From where does audio come TO the cable box? The cable box is a source of both audio and video. Perhaps you mean the TV broadcast "containing the audio and video" comes in on coax.

Has this ever worked correctly? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Try this: disconnect the HDMI that goes from the cable box to the Video 2 on the receiver. Leave the optical audio cable in. How's the audio now?

Then try the reverse: reconnect the HDMI and disconnect the optical audio. You shouldn't need BOTH for audio into the receiver.

Now what happens?

JVC LCD TV (LT-42X688) input panel not working!

1. This TV has setting for the HDMI input that allows you to select the HDMI Audio or Analog(red/white wire) audio. Make sure this is correct

2. Most cable boxes are DVI not HDMI. If DVI then you actually do need to use those Red/white cables. If HDMI, refer back to #1.

3. The cable box has a setting to select the Audio output, HDMI (digital) or Analog(red/white cables). Just like #1, this has to be set.

4. Contact your cable company to help you set up the box correctly. JVC can probably help you check the TV
