Find your num lock key on the keyboard. It is usually a different color which indicates that it has to be pressed in combination with the function or fn key. They FN key is usually located down in a corner. This will turn off the numlock keys and allow your normal keys to be utilized.

If you look, there is a key labeled NUM LK written in blue, it will be on the same key labeled something else in white. It is usually on like the home or end key.

Here is the link for the users guide for your laptop. Also, it may be useful to see if the numlock icon is lit up indicating that your numlock key is in the on state.

Looking at the keyboard, the letter "K" is also labeled in blue with the number "2". This tells me that your numlock is in the "on" state.

When i turn on my mt3705 the keys lights turn on but the screen is completely black and i can hear the computer processing.

With a flash light can you see if the computers screen is coming on at all? If so you have a bad backlight. Worst case is the whole screen is bad. Easy fix could be you have it set for external video with FN key.

Well im log in but i had a room mate and they left and i dont know the password can you help me

Turn on the laptop and keep pressing the F8 key till you geta black and white menu. Choose to run in Safe Mode (use the arrow keys tohighlight it and hit enter) and when it gets to the login, choose theadministrator account (may be password protected also, but usually is not) andgo to Control Panel, then click User Accounts. Click the account your trying tolog into and click the "Remove Password". Reboot the pc and now youcan log into that account.

Cheers!

The Gateway MT3705 does not include a built-in bluetooth adapter. You will need to connect and external adapter to add bluetooth functionality to this system.

No signs of power on my gateway mt3705

The power supply provides only 48V (or what ever is listed on the back) but the computer breaks out +12 -12 +5 -5 etc and if that power regulator is damaged it will not come on.
Remove the battery and unplug, hold the power button on for 2-3 minutes, plug in ONLY the power cord and press the power button.
Most likely if you don't get any text on the screen the internal power regulator/converter is damaged.
