Some times machines get dusts eg in a DVD thereis what we call a lens this is what read data on your dvd movie so when dirty it tend to lie / blinded what to do if you can open it make sure you see this glass thing; then i suggest that ussing an ear band or a cotton ball then gently rub on top make sure you dont press it down damaging it after that close your machine and taste your dvd player

I have a philip AZ2045 CD Player , but lately it can't detect the cd. Everytime I tried to play a CD it always written NO CD or CD EROR... Can anyone help me ,please ??

Try using a DVD / CD disc cleaner. There is a lens on the driv which detects if a disc is inserted and to read the info on the disc. If its dirty, it wont read properly.

Why does computer play only one disc in 2-disc set?

Look very closely at that DVD, Richard. Look for fingerprints or scarring near the transparent center section - DVD recording always starts in the middle and progresses outward, the opposite of vinyl records.

Will not play dvd.- it says to check disk. On starting, the dvd chamber clicks multiple times, then it says to check disc, then it turns itself off. Thank you.

Hi
Try using a DVD/CD laser cleaning disc.It sounds like it's having trouble reading it.
Saying that with a lot of combi units sometimes the DVD drive fails down to using cheaper components to keep the price low.I guess that's the price you pay for buying two units in one.
Try cleaning the lens first though.
Good luck....

DVP-NS30 shows "CANNOT PLAY" message when DVD inserted

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the DVD player cannot read or play the inserted disc.
  1. Ensure the inserted disc is compatible with the DVD player.IMPORTANT: Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product for a list of compatible disc. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
  2. Use a soft cloth to clean the disc.
  3. Examine the disc for any cracks or scratches that might be interfering with playback.
  4. Attempt to play another disc.NOTES:
    • If another disc plays in the DVD player, then the previous disc is faulty.
    • Some recordable discs may not play correctly because of the quality of the recording, the physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device or authoring software used.

  5. Remove the disc from the DVD player.
  6. Turn off the DVD player.
  7. Unplug the power cord of the DVD player from the AC outlet.
  8. Let the DVD player remain without power for 1 minute.
  9. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
  10. Turn on the DVD player.
  11. Insert the disc into the DVD player.
  12. Attempt to play the disc.
If still persists, its time for your device to get serviced.

Inserted disc reading "No Disc"

Hello Brian,

It looks like you have a bad lens assembly. That explains the "No Disc" error. Just get the lens assembly replaced and it will be back to normal.

Some models of PIONEER cd players had radio frequency problems that caused them to work on and off. Are you near any radio or braodcast towers? Poorly shielded power supplies cause this as well. A weak laser diode in the pick-up assembly in model runs could be the problem. You might want to Google the model number and see if this is common for these units.
