Eaton's check valves are under a warranty cover of 1 year. However, if it is leaking or showing the signs of wearing off than its time to replace it with new one. For that you have to spend $25. Here is Eaton 1" check valve available - 1" Check Valve

the solenoids go bad all the time on those. if the pump is pumping and the valve is new, that's most likely the cause. It should be right near the valve

Bostitch AB-9048025 What's it made of?

Bostitch calls the AB-9048025 a non-return valve, most compressor companies call then tank check valves. All the check valves I've worked with are brass with a spring loaded, plastic valve to hold the air in the tank when the pump shuts off. Many are interchangeable with a little line re-routing. You can find the AB-9048025 on sites like Also, on that site, you can put "tank check valve" in the parts search box and get a list of valves available and most have pictures of them so you can see what you'd be working with.

We have a craftsman 60 gallon air compressor model 919.175.260. The valve on the side of the pressure switch is leaking air. What might be wrong? Thanks.

If their is air leaking out of the pressure switch after the motor turns off you have a stuck or broken tank check valve. The check valve (PN CAC-437-2) is located on the tank where the line from the pump goes into the tank. There is also a smaller line from the check valve to the pressure switch. If working properly, the check valve lets air into the tank but closes when the motor shuts off. The pressure switch then opens a valve to the smaller line and lets the pressure out of the pump head and lines so the motor can restart when the pressure drops. On rare occasions you can remove the valve and clean it, but more often than not, you have to replace it.

I have a 04 Lincoln Navigator the air suspension keeps acting up some times it works just fine if it has been setting all night it will go all the way down and will sometimes air up and sometime it...

typical dealers response
indicates that there is a faulty non-return valve in the system that is passing air when sitting and allow air in and out when compressing
I would start by checking the valves at the discharge line at the compressor, working to the air reservoir valves then onto ride height control valves finishing with holes in the air suspension bags them selves
yes it work doing the checking but there is no real expense until you find the faulty part and I am sure that it will be less than the quote

I have a Dewalt D55141 Air Compressor that will work normally through one or two cycles, and then when it try's to power again it will just hum and quite repeatedly until I shut it off. It also bleeds...

I believe that you have a very simple problem related to the in-tank check valve. Follow the discharge hose from the compressor to the tank. It should connect to a brass or chrome valve. This valve has a one way check valve that allows air into tank and not return to compressor (if air leaks back, compressor will be under load (motor will not overcome) and air will leak from the pressure switch unloader valve). With air in the tank, remove the hose at the check valve and spray soapy water to verify leak, replace part or clean as needed. Good luck

Can an air crompressor check valve be cleaned

Only on very rare occasions can a tank check valve be cleaned and still work. The main reason is air pressure is usually high enough inside the tank that when the check valve closes after the pump turns off it usually damages the valve or seat just enough that a leak forms. It is extremely hard to fix a valve or seat so they will seal up again. Without your specific model number I can't tell you which part number you need but most check valves cost $17 to $25 for these types of compressors.

When my compressor turns off air starts to come out somewhere around the on and off switch.

If the air leak lasts for about five to ten seconds, it's supposed to do that. It's releasing the pressure in the pump head so it can start up again. If it never stops, your check valve is not working correctly. Follow the main air line, usually a copper tube to where it goes into the tank. The large brass fitting it goes into is the check valve. There should also be a black line running from the check valve to the pressure switch. You have to remove the black airline and copper tube to remove the check valve. If there is something stuck in the valve it may be useable if you can clear it out. If the valve or valve seat is damaged or the spring is broken, replace it.

I have an 80 gal Craftsman air compressor who just shut down, the pressure is dropping, it made a smoke smell and it blew my circuit breaker. I tried starting my circuit breaker but it kept flipping off....

Usually related to the in-tank check valve. Follow the discharge hose from the pump to the tank. At the tank the hose attaches to a brass valve (or metal valve). This brass fitting is the check valve. It's purpose is to hold air in the tank and not allow the air to load the compressor when motor is trying to start. Easy to test. Use another compressor to pump air into your tank thru the quick disconnect or remove the safety valve and install hose there. Pump in about 75 psi and looks for leaks with soapy water. Remove air inlet hose from check valve and check for air leaks. If leaking, replace with generic valve available at or order from sears parts. If no leaks then suspect unloader is not working at the pressure switch. If both the unloader and check valve is ok then test capacitor for reading within 95% of rated valve. Good holidays

The code po410 for the secondary air injection system is displayed. I check the pump and it is working fine. I can not locate the one way check valve to determine if it is working?

I believe the check valve is an internal component of the electric AIR shut-off valve. I assume this is a 4.2L as other engines do not have AIR.
