Chaintech P35-121-16B9 need the manual or video jumper setting

Hi

Thank you for your query

Generally you dont need to disable the onboard VGA to AGP, all you need to do is to ensure that you plug the monitor lead into the AGP VGA card.

However if you wish to disable the onbaord VGA then please do the following

1) Ensure that the monitor lead is plugged into the onboard VGA card/port
2) Siwitch on PC then press F12, esc or del key to enter detup (When switching on there will be a message that says press X to enter setup)
3) This will present you with a blue BIOS screen, if yuo go through the menu there will be a option that says 'onboard/integrated peripherals'
4) choose that option and there will be a further option 'onboard VGA' this will be set to enabled. Set this to disabled and then save and exit
5) Note at this point you will have to move the VGA cable from the monitor from the back of the VGA prot to the AGP VGA card

I hope this has been helpful

FOr reset motherbord settings to defaults you can reset with 2 methods.
(1)Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings defaults.
(2) Find jumper on motherbord named "Clear cmos" It has 1-2-3 pins.Put jumper in 2-3 position and thne power up then again put pin in 1-2 position thne all settings defualts.
Refix RAM memory.Clean dust from all parts.
Open processor and processor fan.
Remove pci cards from motherbord then check.
Make sure motherbord not ground with cabinet.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Seting all jumpers to motherboard chaintec 6via5t socket 379 intel

Gateway sold all the "support" for its older computers (manuals, software, hardware) to a company that went bankrupt in November 2008.

So, _no_ information about "older" Gateway computers is available online -- not even how to set jumpers.

My computer wont reboot in any mode

If it wont boot because you played with the BIOS settings, try resetting the CMOS. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord, open the PC, look for the CMOS reset jumper(it is near the CMOS battery or just look at your manual for a clearer location. It has three pins). At default the jumper is placed at pins 1 and 2. Move it to pins 2 and 3. Wait for a minute. Then place it back to pins 1 and 2. Or you could take off the the CMOS battery and wait for maybe 5 minutes.

Set the jumper to recovery or to clear
CMOS Jumper

Its a basic conscept it can change according to your bios manual you follow - Trace the cmos jumper exactly dont short any other jumper
