SOURCE: Envelope printing
Got a 3100CN and had the same problem but found that a) Changing paper size from the web doesn't work but b) Go to the printer control panel on the printer and use the menu to set the paper size for the MPF tray for FREE. Now your application under windows will overide the whatever the printer thinks and will print. Envelope via Word all work without problem. Suggestion . Configure two printers one B&W using tray one and one colour using MPF and you can now quickly select whether to use colour or b&w. Regards John N - N2UYI/G7LTQ

Use The Recommended Print Area
For the best
printing results, adjust the top and bottom margins of your document to
within the recommended printing area shown below.
Click on the paper size listed for the recommended print area settings: A4 / B5 / A5 / 4 x 6 / 4 x 8 / 5 x 7 / Credit Card, Letter and Legal, Envelopes (DL / COM#10)
Caution: When printing is performed outside the recommended printing area, the top and bottom edges of the paper may curl, the print quality may deteriorate, or the printed side may be smudged.
The printer has both the recommended print area and the printable area, according to the paper size.
Recommended print area: This indicates the recommended print area.
Printable area: Although this indicates the printable area, degradation of print quality may occur.

Open the door on the back above the power cord. Rotate both blue levers all the way up so they change from "1" to "2". Wrinkle problem will be solved. This was in the troubleshooting section of the online user manual, page 95. You would think they would tell you about this in the envelope section of the manual.
