Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
While you have the freezer panel out look at the defrost heaters to see if they are burnt up, there may be 2 heaters on a GE they look like glass tubes with a spring running through them on e at the very bottom and another about halfway up. a good heater will be faily clear a bad heater will look greyish and burnt on the inside. this is most common issue for ge defrost problems. if both heaters look ok. need to check the defrost sensor its mounted to the top of the coil it will have an orange and I think brown wire going to it it is a round disc looking piece. not sure if you have a multimeter if you do check it on ohms and yo should read infinity as long as the sensor is still frozen.
now if both of those check good then only thing left is bad defrost control which means replacing the motherboard loated on the back of your refrig.
shoot me a message if you have anymore questions.. thx peyton
