In the menu, find antenna/cable. Locate cable and program from there.

Magnavox tv has cable channels 2-13 only. Lost original remote. Using a universal remote. Tried to auto program. It started scanning but when channel 14 came around, just fuzzy snowy picture all through...

The set needs to be switched from antenna to cable in the setup menu. It is capable of either antenna reception or cable reception. Ch 2-14 are the same frequency for antenna and cable but above 14 they are different. That is why the picture is stoping at 14. After you switch it to cable auto program again. Thanks for using fixya.

DTV1300A Sansui is not dtv ready, Am I doing something wrong?

To put your digital channels into the memory of the DTV1300 or 1900 press the MENU/ENTER button. Go to CH SETUP. Press the VOL + button. Go to TV CABLE. Use VOL+ button to set to TV for antenna or CABLE for cable without a cable box. Go to AUTO CH MEMORY. Press the VOL+ button. Wait for the search screen to go away after the analog and digital searches finish on their own. Check ALL your channels with the CH up button. I hope this helps you.

"ch set" appearing on screen

Need to get into the menu pages to setup the tuner. Just buy a under $10 universal remote but make sure it has a menu button.
Or - many other products that use remotes often have an option for programing it to work with other equipment.
