SOURCE: water keeps running, toilet not

Hi snowjobs847...
Try resetting your float level to a lower water level in the tank, the extra pressure put on the seal may make it reseal.
If the above did not work:
You need to replace your "ballcock"...the ballcock (inlet valve) is non-repairable, has to be replaced with a new one if you cannot get it to stop leaking.

Toilet Tank Fills Doesnt stop filling

You can get a new seal at almost any hardware store. Turn the water off. Just give the grey cap about a 1/4 turn and it will come off. Pull the black rubber out and put the new one in. The rod inside the ballcock eventually pierces the rubber diaphragm. The cost is about $2.

Tank isn't filling up

Make sure your hose doesn't have any leaks. Also, check the check valve for dirt or wear. Your pressure regulator could also be stuck in the blow off position.

I have an infrared grill... sometimes it just doesn't heat up that well...Other times it goes to 600 degrees... I think when the gas goes below three poounds there's a problem, but I also have it...

More than likely it's over fill protection valve (OPD) in the gas tank valve. It will affect the grill's regulator when the tank valve is opened to quickly. It should always be opened VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow).

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I fill the tank up, but it seems too light to be full, so I drain it and it only has about 1 gallon if that in it. Whats wrong?

How are you filling the tank, and is this in an RV or what? Open pressure relief valve when filling and when water comes out pressure relief valve, you know your close to full. If it doesn't come out there when valve is open, check for by-pass valve(s) in wrong position and not filling the tank.

My flapper was leaking, so I replaced it. Now, when I flush, the water leaves the toilet bowl, fills the bowl, and wants to flush again. All the water wants to leave the tank, but the toilet doesn't...

Hi,
Reset the fill valve so that it does not fill the tank so full....this will be easier then trying to find a different flapper that will drop down faster, which is the only other thing you can do...

Can't fill gas except very slowly. Pump kicks off even at slowest filling. Someone suggested evap canister??

Usually a bad vent valve, unless your truck doesn't have one. If it does, the vent valve is near the tank attached to a hose from the tank or filler pipe. It has an electrical connector and another hose going to the canister. Sometimes it's mounted to the canister. The valve is usually default open and allows vapors to go from the tank to the canister. Take your off to see if it's open. If you need specific instructions, please reply with your model, year, and engine info. If not, replace it. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
