Question about HP DeskJet 940c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I HAVE A HP DESKJET 940C PRINTER. BLACK PRINTING PROBLEMS.

I USE REFILLED AFTERMARKET CARTRIDGES. PRINTING BLACK AND COLORS FADED IN AND OUT. CHANGED BLACK CARTRIDGES 4 TIMES AND CHANGED COLOR CARTRIDGE. PRIMED, CLEANED, ALIGNED AT LEAST 5 TIMES.

PRINTED TEST PAGE, LOOKS OK BUT, TOP OF "HP DESKJET" LETTERING LOOKS LIGHT. (BLACK LETTERS)

PRINTED PERSONAL WORD FILE IN BLACK. PRINTING AT TOP OF PAGE GRADUATES FROM NON-EXISTENT TO DARKER AND NORMAL AT ABOUT 1/3 DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG AND NEED HELP OF PERSON WHO KNOWS.

THANKS,

DEAN

    KEEPITSIMPLE,

    IN REPLY:

I RAN A 5 PAGE FILE IN WORD.

FIRST PAGE RUNS LIGHT AT TOP OF PAGE & REST OF PAGE IS UNEVEN IN THICKNESS/LIGHTER/DARKER.

2ND PAGE UNEVEN. SOME LINES APPEAR WITH WHITE LINE (LACK OF INK) HORIZONTALLY ACROSS WHOLE SENTENCE.

REST OF DOCUMENT PAGES, MIX OF UNEVEN (LIGHTER & DARKER SENTENCES) WITH SOME SENTENCES CONTAINING WHITE LINE (LACK OF INK) THROUGH ENTIRE SENTENCE.

IF IT IS THE DIRTY GUNK SCENARIO, HOW DO I LOCATE AND CLEAN.

    THANKS FOR YOU INITIAL RESPONCE.

    DEAN

If you sent a job with several pages does each page show the same graduation, or is it on the first page only, if so then this sounds like the heads are not parking over print head parking, and drying out, or their is build up on dryed in (like a dirty gunk) that could be blocking the heads. I would also recommend fitting brand new genuine hp cartridges, to see if that resolves the problems.

Hi! I have a huge problem with my hp deskjet 940c. It won't print colors - only pink! I have bought two new print cartridges, but it's still no good. The black one is okay. Can you help me?

The issue here is that Most HP printers after a certain amount of years of use have that issue, mine was with the black cartridge so i bought a new one from best buy for about 30 bucks not bad for a decent all in one printer

Hi

The printhead of your color cartridge is clogged
or is near to end
you need to replace the color cartridge or refill it (cheaper method)

the moving ink frame is probably pointing to a symbol such as replace color ink( three dots on ink cartridge picture). Replace color ink. You are probably printing your black and white documents with colored ink--always select black or greyscale.

My HP 940C only prints in shades of red. I replaced with new HP 15 & 78 Cartridges, still have same problem!

Some HP ink refills have the exact same product number but the electrical contact tips on the back of the cartridge are not the same configuration, resulting in red ink only being printed. One example is the DeskJet color ink cartridge C1823D having multiple configurations.Find a printer just like yours that's working properly and compare the contact tips if possible. HP tech help is a joke on this one. Good luck!

My hpdeskjet 940c wont accept a 4X6 photo paper It tries but the paper doesn't slide through

Print a test page only in black. If little to no black shows, you need a black. If your color cartridge seems full, only get a new HP black ink cartridge.

try cleaning the contacts with a wet towel
from both cartridge (black and color) and in the printer
where the cartridges get in (metal pins)

I had the same problem. It was solved once I bought an original color cartridge. Refilled cartridge seems not to work on this printer. Glad if it might help.

Hp deskjet 940c printer

Hi.
I think it must be the ink blow-by, you must clear the ink path through the printer head. Try to activate the cleaning of the head pins. Just go to the printer icon then right click and click the printing preferences then look for the head cleaning menu. then try to print test by doing a cold reset.

Deskjet 1540 changes color from black to red

There could be two reason for the issue. One if you refill cartridges then that could cause the problem. Second your cartridge might be running low. Please reply or let me know if this help. Change your cartridges.

Thanks
