To enable your upnp you need to "log into your router" the all your settings will be there for you to change such as enable upnp tutorials for this can be found on youtube

Im trying to switch my nat type from strict to open,,how can i do so?

On most store bought routers you can only set NAT on or off. If you turn it off and it is your gateway router (entry point to the internet basically) then you must have NAT on. What issue are you trying to solve?

Hello
Your pppoe # is also on your routers homepage.Im assuming you can get into your router via windows.
Just look at the setup page under pppoe on the router.

I cant play online becouse of this a NATtype3 what dose this mean

Nat 3 is the result of being hooked into a router without being properly setup for data transfer. essentially it is restrictive.

There are 3 ways to change your Nat type to type 2 or 1. (Nat type 2 meaning that it is properly setup without restrictions behind a router, and Nat 1 being a direct connection to the Internet).

1.) Hook the PS3mag-glass_10x10.gif directly into the modem will result in a Nat type 1, but of course that means disconnecting everything but the ps3 and that's an unnecessary hassle.

2.) Going into the router settings and Port Forwarding the PS3's necessary ports to the Ps3's ip address.

3.) Probably the simplest (on most routers) and most effective is to go into the router and set the PS3's ip address in the DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone), essentially the router doesnt have any say from what comes and goes to the Ps3, which is good so the connection isn't hampered.

Im playing call of duty and cannot get onto any online games. I have an internet connection and im at the rank of lance cpl 2nd class but I cant play on any games?

Make sure that you NAT TYPE isn't moderate or strict if so factory reset the modem/router and if that doesn't do it, go into your modem/router via PC and set your PS3 as a DMZ host. NOT: Setting you PS3 system as a DMZ host puts your console outside the firewall.

Which modem from telus works best with the ps3 i have a siemens gateway SE567 and always gets the NAT type 3 issue, so i need to know which one will give me nat type 2 or 1 if there are any available from...

go to your favorite search engine and look up the manual for your router/modem. Every router and modem has a way to alter your NAT, you just need to look through the manual to have it tell you :)

You can only sign into your Playstation account if you are using your own user profile on the far left of the XMB.

Do a Network test to see if you can even connect to PSN. Go to Settings, Network Settings, and do and Internet Connection Test.

if your test doesn't show your NAT type as either 1 or 2 then your router is being to restrictive. Try changing some of the settings to allow the PS3 full access to the internet.
