SOURCE: linking hp pc (windows vista) with philips lcd via

You need to set your system to output to the port the TV is on.
If it is a laptop, there is an F key to change from LCD to LCD+VIDEO to VIDEO.
If it is a desktop you need to go into your display settings (control panel or rt clk desktop/properties or whatever system you have).

SOURCE: I have an HP Touchsmart

I agree with jgroves705.

Bad Power Supply. Weak voltage power rail.

Enough power to light LED lights, and maybe spin fans, but not enough to turn the Processor on, or keep it on.

1) ALL of the LED lights on at once, would use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) The fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) The AMD Turion 64 X2, model TL-58 (1.9GHz) processor, can use up to 58 Watts of power.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Turion_microprocessors#.22Tyler.22_.2865_nm.29_2

{The Processor socket is a Socket S1,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_S1 }

It also bears measure, because you have to constantly reboot the TouchSmart to get it to come on.

HP wants you to send it in because;

A) The TouchSmart line of desktop computers, are built like a laptop.

You have to use skill to disassemble it, in order to replace the Power Supply, or you can break stuff.
(Pretty technical, huh?)

Getting to the Power Supply is No piece of cake.

2) It costs more ($$$$)

Not an advertisement for the website, or the seller.
Just to give you an idea of what the Power Supply looks like,

Here's what the motherboard looks like,

If you believe you have the skills to open the HP TouchSmart IQ770, and replace the Power Supply, or just want to try it anyway, post in a Comment, and I'll do my best to lead you through it.

HOW CAN I RESET THE HP OMNI 100 BACK TO ITS FACTORY SETTINGS

You will have to get a factory restore disk and if you already have one place in the DVD or CD tray and start the computer follow the on screen instructions to restore the computer back to its original condition. Some PC's have a separate restore partition on the C:\ drive you can go to my computer and tick to open go to C:\ and see if there is a partition for this. It should say recovery or restore. If you do not have this option you may order one from the factory or go to their web site and download a copy of the original software. NOTE: people when you buy a computer and have this option to download restore disk by all means do so right away. Also store you factory disks where you will find them if ever needed.

The inverter boards on laptops are common failures. Depending on the age of the laptop it could also be related to a faulty LCD interface cable.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery.After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .

LCD monitor goes blank

It appears that the display resolution set in your display properties is out of the range that the LCD can display.

Try this.

Boot to the ENABLE VGA MODE by pressing F8 to get the Windows Boot Menu. If you can get to the desktop, then go to display properties, and see if you can change the resolution to higher settings and maintain video. (If the video blanks out, then it should revert to the previous setting in 15 seconds)
