The battery usually is located in a compartment under the scale. You can open the compartment, remove the battery, and purchase a replacement

Most likely the batteries need to be replaced. If you put in new batteries and it still doesn't work, it may be time for a new scale.

How do I reset the scale?

If the scale is an electronic version, remove the batteries and wait a minute or two before replacing the batteries. That will probably zero the scale. If that doesn't work, it's time to buy new batteries.

Am trying to add clarification to an earlier question. The scale I am asking about is a wall mount kitchen scale: the make is Salter, the model 1601. It worked fine for several years until I changed t

Is it possible you put the batteries in the wrong way? Sometimes a device will still have power in that situation, even though it won't work as expected. Try a new set of batteries, but clean the contacts in the battery compartment first, and double-check the battery orientation.

Escali scale wont turn on

Step on the scale and immediately step OFF and the scale will then be ready to weigh you. If this does not work, then you need to replace the battery.

I just received product JB5413. Batteries were just purchased today. The remote is working fine, but it will not weigh. The instruction manual is minimal. I need help getting this to work.

If it's any consolation my Jobar/Ideaworks JB5413 scale has the a similar problem: will not weigh, yet the remote control functions okay. About one attempt out of ten will cause a weight display, though. Can't figure out why scale works occasionally, vs. never works. Batteries are new, and the battery compartments are free of corrosion.

Scales not working properly- weighing too light with battery symbol dotting across screen - have changed the battery, no difference.

scale may need to be calibrated or you may have something causing the scale to be unstable or something could be binding

Try this, I have the same problem and I just got off the phone with Taylor, this is what they told me to do and my scale is now working again.
1. take the battery out.
2. put the scale on a flat, hard surface
3. stand on the scale for 10 seconds
4. put the battery back in, be careful not to touch any buttons or turn the scale on
5. put the scale back on the flat, hard surface
6. put one foot on the scale and apply pressure until the display comes on
7. take your foot off of the scale
8. wait for the the display to go blank
9. now stand on the scale to weigh yourself.

This worked for me. Hope that it works for all of you.
