SOURCE: Does not print dark enough to read. Changed toner

Steps . The first troubleshooting step an owner can take is to make sure that the plastic protective tape on the new black cartridge is off.
Next, calibrate the HP printer. One thing to remember is that every time there is a need for a new printer cartridge, calibration is one of the steps to perform right after loading. You can run "Self Test Diagnostic," as well as, "Print Cartridge Alignment" in order to get the black ink to work.
You can also try cleaning the black ink cartridge. Remove the blank ink cartridge from the HP printer; use a cotton swab to clean the laser or scanner block. Wipe away dirt, grime or any dried ink that may prevent ink from flowing. You can also try cleaning the printer heads.

  • If you are having issues on an HP Laserjet printer, go to the menu, click "Diagnostics," then print the "PQ Troubleshooting Pages." If black ink does not print, go to "Disable the Cartridge" and switch the magenta and black cartridges on the menu. Then, print the pages again. If black ink does not print, then the problem may be the toner cartridge.

At times, when black ink does not print, it can signify a problem with a printer's laser. The owner of a HP printer may see an error on the LCD screen, indicating that there is a problem with the laser assembly.

Another problem could be the wiring connection at the laser or scanner; check if the plugs are loose. Contact HP Support for further assistance.

Screen dims when lights in room are off

Look in the owner manual or call LG (brand listed here) as I suspect the set has a light sensor that tries to adjust brightness as light in the room changes----this feature has been on many sets for nearly 50 years---on a lot of the very old ones we would remove that part as it just created issues.

The scanner reader is probably bad. Canon calls it a Contact Image Sensor FK2-1377-00
This is moderately hard to install because it is under the glass.

Need instructions on how to send fax, it seem as though we are not following the correct steps

Solution: Sending faxes on an MX310

    Sending Faxes

The operation flow of sending faxes is as follows.

    1. Load the original on the platen glass or on the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

      Platen Glass

      1. Lift the document cover (1).
      2. Place the original in landscape orientation and align the upper corner of it with the alignment mark (2) as shown in the figure below.

        t_00712.jpg
      3. Gently close the document cover.
    ADF
    1. Remove any documents from the Platen Glass.
    2. Open the Document Tray.

      t_00913.jpg
    3. Load the document in the ADF.
Load the document with the side you want to copy, scan, or fax facing up in the ADF.

      t_01014.jpg
    4. Adjust the Document Guides to match the document width.

    2. Adjust fax settings as necessary.

    3. Start faxing.

      1. Dial the recipient's number using the numeric buttons or coded speed dialing.

      2. Press the button for color sending, or the button for black & white sending.

Note: Color sending is available only when the recipient's fax machine supports color faxing.

      3. If the document was loaded on the Platen Glass, the following message will appear. Load the next page on the Platen Glass.

Adjusting the Scan Contrast or the Image Quality (Fax Resolution)
    Adjusting the Scan Contrast

Contrast is the degree of difference between light and dark. Increasing the scan contrast setting further blackens dark areas and whitens bright areas, whereas decreasing the contrast setting reduces the difference between bright and dark areas. You can adjust the contrast among three contrast levels.

    1. Press the button.

    2. Press the button.

    3. Press the (left) or (right) button to select the contrast.

      ug_faxing87.jpg

    4. Pressing the l_mark.jpg (left) button decreases the contrast, and pressing the r_mark.jpg (right) button increases the contrast.

    5. Press the button.

Adjusting the Image Quality (Fax Resolution)

You can adjust the image quality (fax resolution) of the document you send. The higher you set the image quality setting, the better the output quality will be at the other end, but the longer it will take for the transmission. Adjust the image quality according to the type of document you are sending.

    1. Press the button.

    2. Press the button two times.

    3. Press the l_mark.jpg (left) or r_mark.jpg (right) button to select the resolution.

Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough

In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.

Our hp 9250c scanner suddenly scans very light

Reset the Darkness and use the setting to adjust the lightness or darkness of the output. Check the setting on the scan application as well as the 9250C.

Also check the document type and resolution settings.

If there is nothing strange about any of the settings then run the Calibrate Scanner function. If that does not cure the problem then you may have an issue with the quality of the lamp output or the scan detector and will need a service engineer to visit and rectify.

    Ink tone

    Hi Pam -

This is a common problem with the CX 5000 - there is no contrast control (i.e., light/dark) like you would have on a photocopier. But if you use the scanning mode (EpsonScan) instead of the copying mode, there are a couple of alternative options that might help:

    1) Brightness - in the EpsonScan program, in Home Mode, under Image Adjustments, there is a button labelled "Brightness." Depending on the colors and contrast of what you're copying, adjusting the brightness may help.

    2) Color Restoration - In both Home Mode and Professional Mode, this feature is meant to restore the color to a faded photo - depending on the colors of your document, it may make the copy lighter or darker, but it's an option.

    Hope this helps!

Also what is the version of the HP-R5052? Talk to you soon . Thank you Jay
