Turn off
Remove printer cable or
If it has a network card remove it
Turn printer back on
Let it come to Ready
turn off
re-install all cables / network card.

HP Error code 79


Good evening Jody, my name is Steve.
And this error code is also related to an error code 49.
This is a communication error code that will stop printing in a job or not print at all.

The first thing is to eliminate all communication to the printer.

This is the USB, Network or WiFi connection . the problem is the printer or the net work

It would also be a good idea to have a print-out of your configuration and usage reports.

Finally, see if there is a designation next to the "79" this also has more information in it.

At this point it would be hard to pinpoint where the problem is.
In the past with the newer HP's I found the same error codes due to:
corrupt firmware or driver.
Bad Formater board

Error 79 on hp printer?


The cause :-----A 79 error can be the result of a problem with the network print server that services the printer. To resove the problem:--- When troubleshooting a 79 error, first open the Printer folder from the Start menu on the Print server to make sure there are no jobs pending. A 79 error can also indicate a failure of a printer add-on component, such as an MIO card or a RAM module. All add-ons should be removed and then added back to the printer one by one to determine which module may be at fault. This will help.Good luck.

Cant print..it keeps on giving the error code 79 even after turning it off and on


turn printer off; disconnect network/usb cable. clear printer cue. turn printer on. turn off; reconnect network cable/usb cable. try printing test page. may need to delete and then reinstall new printer driver.

The red triangle light with the "!" in it keeps flashing. I've just printed some things off but now it's not printing. Need it to print obviously..


ATTENTION light(triangle): Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open, print cartridge is missing, and other errors.

If ATTENTION and READY light is blinking:

Printer initialization
The printer is initializing.
No action is necessary.

Cleaning mode
A cleaning page is printing.
Wait until the cleaning page has finished and the printer is in the Ready state.
This could take up to two minutes.

If ATTENTION and READY light is on:

Fatal error
Turn off the printer, and then unplug the printer power cord for 30 minutes.
Plug the printer power cord into the power outlet, and then turn the printer on.
If the error persists, replace the printer.

If ATTENTION light is blinking and READY light is off:

  1. Attention: door open, no print cartridge, or media jam
The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention.
Check the following:
? The print cartridge door must be completely closed.
? The print cartridge is correctly installed.
? There is no media jam.

2. Out of memoryThe printer is out of memory.
The page you are printing might be too complex for the printer's memory capacity.
Try lowering the resolution.

CLC 1150 Color Coiper E020 0142 What does this


Toner feed error, possibly clogged up in a feed tube, or in between hopper and developer.
Will most likely need a service technician to fix.

Error code 79:04


From the service manual:

System Error: 79:04
Problem Description: Firmware Error.

Corrective Action: Try the following:
Switch the Printer Off and wait a few minutes. Switch the Printer on again and check if the Error Code has disappeared.
If the Error Code reappears, check for a new Firmware release.

1st shut the printer off
2nd Disconnect it from the Computer
3rd turn it on

Does the error still occur?

If it starts properly print a configuration page.

If this is possible you have a Printer Driver issue.
Replace the Print Driver.

If it still has the error when the printer is NOT connected to the Computer then you have a firmware issue most likely.

Cant get rid of blinking error message, nothing works


The correct buttons to push in order to get into the service mode on a 162D are [#] key, [*] key, [C] key and [*] key. Then you key in 14 - 00 and press the Start key. If that fails to bring your machine back on, you'll have to replace the fusing assembly.
