My blinkers nor flashers will work. If you try to use either there is no responce. No lights exterior or interior.
SOURCE: 2003 Saturn Vue rear liftgate won't open
The easy part is you just need the latch for the liftgate. The hard part is getting to it and opening the liftgate to replace the latch. You should be able to pull the liftgate trim off most of the way with the gate closed and try to manually actuate the latch to open the gate. You may have to go so far as breaking the latch from the inside to open the gate and then replace your latch.

First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.

check for a loose or corroded connection on the battery, clean the clamps and pattery posts.
make sure the clamps are securely tightened on the posts and that the wires are not loose or corroded at the clamp. alos check for loose or damaged ground wires coming from the battery or the teminal / clamp
hope this helps

Might be the antitheft system. GM vehicles are notorious for bad antitheft security systems. When these begin to fail, they will lock out the starter at the ignition. Read about it on this link http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
