The filters probably need cleaning. Also check and make sure none of the vents are being blocked.

There could be several reasons for this problem.
1. New lamp needed.
2. New lamp did not fix? Could be mirror tunnel behind the color wheel than can collapse causing "dim" light source or dark lines.
3. All items "greyed" out caused when the unit does not sense a source input, ie computer or tv tuner. After connecting to a source, you should be able to go and adjust contrast and/or brightness settings

Do you know where I can get a replacement remote for the Proxima Ultra Lite LX-1 projector?

The projector is kinda old but your best bet would be ebay or call projector doctor. I know from time to time they have some old remotes.

Our Proxima Ultalight SV1 was displaying yellow on the screen for a while then while using it it made a slight pop then smoke started to pour out of all the vents.

the yellowing was the fried light filter on the blue lcd panel (due to excessive heat and dust). the lamp probably blew for the same reasons. unfortunately, you can no longer get parts for this model.

I have a proxima s540 ultra lite data

From what you describe, it sounds like a fan isn't working. When you turn on a projector, it will go through a quick self test--checking that everything is operating correctly. Some of the fans send out a signal to the main board telling it that they are running. If no signal is received, the board senses this and auto-shut down occurs to protect the unit from heat damage. The errant fan could be spinning but the computer pulse might not be being generated. It will require a tech to find this out.

I am getting a red spot on my screen. Is this a

no, it is the light filter (polarizer). it is caused by excessive heat and dust buildup. blow out projector with canned air to prevent further discoloration, but the filter needs replacing.

Color Balance

reset the settings to factory default. then make sure that it's set up for computer and not composite. if no change, one of the light filters is fried due to excessive dust and heat.

Have an old proxima, adjusted the focus and still the display is a little fuzz Is it new bulb time?

Phoned the Infocus people and they said, the len was out of place. Len repair in this case would be costly. Could buy a newer projection unit for the price of the repair with great amount of lumens than the current proxima unit. Yet if anyone, knows of a cheap fix, please post it.

Need to replace proxima x350 fans

there are no part number because there are no parts available. but if you are getting an overheating message, move the sensor for the front fan or remove it altogether (cut it off, jumper the wires, and tape them up well. and make sure they are away from the fan).
