Why is my check gauges showing up on my head up display on 1999 Buick park avenue ?

This display occurs when the cluster believes one of the gauge readings requires your attention. Could be low on fuel or engine temp too high, etc.

I have a daihatsu applause 16valve and the temperature reading is not displaying on the gauge in the dashboard. What you I do to fix it?

Check the wire from the temp sensor for a loose or disconnected wire harness connector. To see if the gauge is operating, pull the wire off the sensor and put a small jumper to engine ground. The gauge will move. If it does move then the temp sensor is not working. If it doesn't then the gauge is faulty.

Where is a temp gauge sensor located on a 1999 Oldsmobile bravada?

Which one? There should be a sensor for the dash gauge (one wire) and a coolant temp sensor for the ECU (two wires) and also a sensor for the outside temp display (no idea where this last one is--I just open the window if I want to know). The first two should be on the intake manifold, near the thermostat housing.

Temperature gauge not accurate

Most manufacturers do not supply the gauge with the correct temp. It is a computer generated guess that is displayed. If computer sees engine tempature getting warm then it will increase gauge. I had a car that someone removed the thermostat on and it would still show after three minutes it was at operating temp. But heater didn't put out heat for almost 45 minutes. A discussion with a gm engineer made me start testing others. Dodge crystler Mitsubishi gm and many others use this fake gauge. Dodge Cummins use it also for their oil pressure gauge. The only way to have accurate temp gauge is install a manual one or watch it through the scan tool.
