Maytag gas dryer doesn't dry properly

My maytag gas dryer heats up but not very high,it is taking me three times to dry my clothes

I too have a maytag gas dryer and the vent plugs off after very little use, thus the clothes do not dry. When the vent is open, there appears to be a high amount of moisture. THere seems to be a fair amount of lint in the lint screen, but there seems to be way to much going through the vent and outside.
    Any ideas

SOUNDS LIKE A RESTRICTION IN THE VENT. CHECK AIR FLOW WHERE VENT EXITS HOUSE. IF IT IS NOT STRONG, INSPECT VENT LINE BEHIND DRYER. IS IT CRUSHED OR CLOGGED WITH LINT? THIS WILL CAUSE DRYER TO SHORT CYCLE. IF VENT IS NOT CLOGGED, CHECK AIR FLOW AT BACK OF DRYER WITH VENT DISCONNECTED. IS AIR FLOW STRONG? OF NOT, PROBLEM IS WITH BLOWER.

Dryer not heating properly

More often When you experience a problem like this with your dryer it is becouse of a clogged dryer vent hose or the vent in the wall. Disconet your dryer vent hose from the dryer to see if it will dry properly. Then you will know if the dryer or the vent.

Gas dryer dosn't heat properly

The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

My Maytag Quite Plus clothes dryer gets warm but not as hot as it use to. It seems to take a very long time to dry clothes. Vent is clear. The moisture gage seems to flicker lately.

most dryers have two heating elemts and when one goes out this increases the drying time and could cause a elec. short and trip a braker can be replaced.. There is also a saftey switch that goes bad and will not let the heating elemt work properly ?

Not heating properly, many cycles to dry loads

Check the following to address this issue--

Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

the gas coils have a problem. as the dryer heats p the coils on the gas valve are failing causing the dryer not to heat. replace the coils and you should have no problem
