I found the fix for my system! Apparently, some manufactureers sent out images with a registry entry pointing to a specific Microsoft server to use for automatic updates. I went into the registery and found and deleted this entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU "UseWUServer"=dword:00000001
I looked at other systems, and they do not have a subkey named "Windows Update" in the "Windows" subkey. To be safe, I just deleted the "AU" subkey data entry which contains the"UseWUServer" keyword. Note: Setting the value to dword:00000000 does not work.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, but this should work for any system with this subkey set and having a probloem with automatic updates

My windows installer registery is somehow missing files

This error is caused by an Installation file that is called .msi or application is file that installs a program and it happen when that particular program is improperly installed. If you suspect such a software than you should remove it and to avoid such problems you should avoid other software running while installing a new software to be on the safe side.
Please take a backup of your Windows registry at first
To backup the registry go to Start>Run box or Search Programs and files> type Regedit. When the registry window opens click File>export and give the name to the file and select and remember the location and enter. This will take the back up of the registry.
Now obtain a good registry cleaning software. I recommend ReCure or registry Mechanic make sure the versions are the latest. One of the best Registry software is Uniblue Registry Booster. It takes registry backup automatically. These software should be able to fix your problem.
It is also recommended that you see the following link, This software can also make a difference to you

Click on Start->Run or press the windows button and r simultaneously in key board. Type "Regedit" without double quotes. Press Enter. Take backup of registry before editing it and don't play with it if you are not confident of what you are doing. Your system may not boot if you do something wrong to registry.

Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or not recognized by Windows or other programs, so you cannot play or access a CD or DVD. This issue might have occurred after you installed, uninstalled, or updated a program or Windows Vista.

See the “More information” section for detailed information.

This article helps you fix the problem. To have us fix this problem for you, go to the "Fix it for me" section. If you would rather fix this problem yourself, go to the "Let me fix it myself" section.

To fix this problem automatically, click the Fix this problem link. Then, click Run now button from the Automated Troubleshooting Services page and follow the steps in this wizard.

Note This automatic fix only applies to Windows XP and to Windows Vista. If your computer is running Windows 7, go to "Windows 7" under the "Let me fix it myself" section.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
This problem is caused by two Windows registry entries that have become corrupted. To fix the problem, you have to use Registry Editor to delete the corrupted Registry entries. To use this method, you must be logged on to Windows as an administrator. If you need help verifying that you are an administrator, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/admin (http://support.microsoft.com/gp/admin)

To fix it yourself:
Windows Vista loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution');

Xp very slow closing down just lately

This could be due to a registery that is cluttered. A Free program to clear unneeded junk in the registry is Eusing Registry Cleaner....Google it. Another Free program to speed things up is SPEEDITUP . It frees up RAM which will speed up everything in windows including shutdown. If you have a lot of programs running in your tool bar you might shut them down manually before exiting windows.
