Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have a Dyna-Glo workhorse heavyduty 170,000 BTU bullet heater that will not light. It says E-1, I may have used the wrong kind of kerosene. Does K-1 or K-2 Kerosene make a difference?

Code says E-1 Any suggestions?

SOURCE: E 1 error on Dyna-Glo Workhorse Kerosene Turbo Heater

Take the top off of the heater and and clean the nozzel orifice, while you have it apart wipe off the photo cell and clean and regap spark plug. The nozzel unscews and you can clean it with a bread tie.

After this clean or change the fuel filter in the tank, and finally check the pump pressure and make sure it is inline with the owner manual. This is assuming that it is firing to begin with

Are the hoses on the fuel nozzle right. Air hose to the front and fuel to the rear. Did you remove the nozzle from the adaptor to check the o-ring? Let me know what you find.

I just replaced the wick, cleaned up the heater and filled with new K-1 kero. The heater (Dyna-Glo RMC-95-C7) is emitting black smoke worst than ever. The wick is burning a little unevenly.

Either the wick was improperly installed or you may not have allowed enough time for the wick to soak in the kerosene and become evenly distributed. Check the placement of the new wick and allow time (several hours) for the wick to absorb the kerosene.

Keep getting E1 error code, where is the fuel pump located? where is the fuel filter located on my dyna glo deluxe multi feul 170000 btu heater

The fuel pump is directly behind the fan motor as the fan motor runs both. The fuel filter is under the electrical control panel on the side of the heater usually has four to six 5/16 head sheet metal screws that hold it on. Remove the screws and then the cover comes off and this is where you will find the fuel filter.

Dyna glo heater

The first thing you need to do is put some kerosene in it, it's a simple step that a lot of people tend to forget. After that make sure it's plugged in and turned on and it should fire right up. Hope this was helpfull poolmistress. You could also have your husband look at it, i hear he is pretty good with stuff like that.
