Most of the Pandigital tablets use the power adapter APR001 which provides 5V at 2A. This is available from Geeks.com here: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=APR001 . Other vendors may also have the adapter.

If you need to replace the jack where the adapter connects, try Radio Shack or http://www.mcmelectronics.com . You need to measure the existing jack dimensions carefully. (This ensures that the adapter will connect properly.) When you desolder the old jack and solder in the new one, make sure that you keep the polarity the same. (Otherwise the adapter may not work.)

I hope this helps.

Will not power on

When you connect the power, does the charge light lit up? this would tell you the power is transmitted to the battery, wich would mean your DC-jack (where the power goes in) is fine, and the problem might be fixed by:
  1. removing the battery,
  2. remove the power,
  3. hold powerbutton for 20 secs,
  4. re-insert power jack(not battery)
  5. press power on button.

If that didnt work, try the following to determine the DC-jack is the problem:
  1. remove battery
  2. insert power into dc-jack
  3. gently press the power plug into various directions while constantly pressing and releasing the power button.
  4. at some point the laptop should respond by turning on, meaning that you have a faulty dc-jack, which needs re-soldering or even relacement by soldering to repair.

Maybe you also notice that the power connector is very loose in the dc-jack, this might tell you that the dc-jack is the problem..

hope it helps..

LOL, sounds like your tablet has seen it's better days. See why HP got out of the Tablet business? They are nothing but trouble.

My Q430's power connection is loose and not changing battery. Do I have to swap out motherboard?

The DC Power Jack is the jack you plug the AC adapter (Charger) into. (DC_IN)
The DC Power Jack for the Samsung Q430 series of Notebook PC's, consists of a;
1) DC Power Jack, which is connected to two wires.
2) The wires end in a small male plug connector.
It is now a DC Power Harness,
http://www.laptopjacks.com/part/Samsung-Q430-DC-Power-Jack-J-SM371300C1.html
FOLLOWING Anti-Static Procedures, the laptop is disassembled far enough to unplug the DC Power Harness, and plug a new one in.

Hello my laptop t41 power is not even flash but the adapter is working,am technician and i have troubleshoot allot.

I concur with what Diegotech stated.

To iterate further;

1) The DC Power Jack (DC IN), may have cracked solder joint/s on the motherboard connector, (Female), where the DC Power Jack plugs in.

Resolder

2) The DC Power Jack may be broken.
Center Pin mount, and/or body of DC Power Jack, and/or Outer Shell mount.

Replace DC Power Jack.

3) Wires from the DC Power jack plug to the female connector on the motherboard, may be bad.

Replace DC Power Jack.

Two examples, of a place to buy an IBM ThinkPad T41 DC Power Jack,

2) http://www.machinaelectronics.com/store/buypart/IBM_Thinkpad_T41/DC-P001

Past this point it's a bad DC sensor on the motherboard.

Replace motherboard.

On this page go down to the 8th line.
The one that starts with > ThinkPad T20.

Go across, and click on > T41

Takes approximately 2 seconds to see the first page, and additional time to fully download.

How to open the power jack for GQ-zx 5361 laptop . and replace it with new one...

1.ESD wrist ********, connected to a good ground, work on a table.

2.Remove the AC adapter if plugged in, and the battery.

3.Completely disassemble the laptop, down to just the bare motherboard in your hand.

4.Use your soldering station, and I advise using a soldering wick instead of a desoldering tool, on the DC Power Jack leads. Works much better.
Remove the old DC Power Jack, being careful to not burn the motherboard, lifting the circuit traces, and rendering the motherboard useless.

5.Clean the DC Power Jack mounting area with Isopropyl Alcohol, and Q-tips to remove the residue. [WARNING! Isopropyl Alcohol is =>Extremely Flammable. I use the 91% Alcohol version]
Make sure the circuit trace mounting hole has a good tinned surface.

6.Install the new DC Power Jack in the circuit trace mounting holes. CAREFULLY apply solder to the DC Power Jack leads, and be sure to make good solder joints.

7.Reassemble the laptop

Sorry, I don't have access at present to Fry's GQ line of laptops for a Maintenance and Service Manual, to give you a link.

Dc power jack not charging

Even though the best thing you should have just done is to take along with you the AC Power Adapter that came with it, so as to get the exact replacement, but I will still tell you the best one for your PC.
Try and Make sure that the specifications for the one you will buy meets the this output power rating :
DC Voltage : 20V
The Current should be : 3.0A.
Product Number : 76-011651-5A

Hope this helps you out.

Broken DC in Jack

I agree, the best option is most likely a motherboard replacement.

You can search Ebay, there are several places that advertise DC power jack repair, But from my experience, repair is an iffy proposition.

Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173

Hi

DC jack replacement is easy however requires a bit care since its mounted on the mainboard. Desolder the old DC jack. Solder the new one firmly. Dont keep the soldering iron too long on the PCB as it will damage the lines and will deform the DC Jack. You can get DC jack very low cos from local repair stores or you can order from Toshiba parts depot (800-524-8338)
Please post your question if you need further assistance.
Good Luck
