Did you loosen any ground wires? Sounds like you might have had a common ground between cb & stereo.

CB Plays out PA Speaker

it is possible that the PA speaker output is intended for a normal (unpowered, unamplified) speaker. Perhaps in your case the audio you hear from the PA speaker is only signal leakage from the PA Speaker connection.
To know.. connect a regular speaker to the PA speaker connector (any speaker, home audio, old car 6x9....). If the PA works and drives the temporary speaker OK, and you hear no CB receive, then the PA output is for a normal speaker, with leakage of CB audio.
It is just a guess, but easy to try.

CB Plays out PA Speaker

Are you following the user manual that came with the radio?
NB-ANL/CB/PA SWITCH: When the switch is in the NB/ANL position, the Noise Blanker (NB) and Automatic Noise Limiter (ANL) circuits are activated.
The Noise Blanker is very effective in eliminating repetitive impulse noise such as ignition interference. In the CB position, the PA function is disabled and the radio will transmit and receive on the speaker that is connected. In the PA position,
the radio acts as public address amplifier. Your voice will come out of the speaker that is plugged into the PA. SP. jack on the rear panel. The radio does not operate when you are in the PA mode.

When you plug a speaker into the ext. jack does it kill the radios internal speaker? It should until you unplug it; if not and you are following the about you may have a wiring issue with the jacks.

My cb radio is on but cant hear nothing sound is turn up but nothing come out

You didn't include the make / model CB you have, so I can only offer general suggestions. If these do not work, please provided the missing info.

Start out by locating and setting the the Volume to a position between 1/4 and 1/2 way clockwise, the Squelch to fully counter-clockwise and the "RF Gain" to fully clockwise to "MAX".

Check the position of the "PA / CB" switch and set to CB. When set to PA, both receive and transmit audio is sent directly to an outdoor speaker (instead of through the transmitter and antenna for reception by other radios). The PA speaker is usually connected to a jack at the rear of the radio. When the PA / CB switch is selected, the internal speaker is silenced even if there is no PA speaker connected.

At this point, you should hear static or voices (with an antenna connected). Do not attempt to transmit without a properly tuned antenna connected. If no sound is heard, there's something else wrong.

I only use the pa function.it doesn't always work.mic prob?when i switch to cb-no prob.

What type of PA speaker are you using? what OHM? and wattage.. A cb pa can only supply MAX 5watts into a pa speaker. It may be too big of speaker or bad speaker? if it works on cb.. wrong OHMS can make problems too..

How can I fix my cobra 29 nw ltd classic? Everything works but the channel does not display and all I hear is static.

Check TR22 which is a 2sc1957 transistor mounted on side of case near heatsink for driver and final, left rear with speaker cover removed. Make sure the legs are not contacting case. Then check resistors R115, R116, R117 for open circuit and C133 for continuity.

I figure that 2sc1957 transistor is shorting to case or failed. A 2sc2314 is a sub for this transistor.

I have a Cobra 29 wx classic and i get talkback through the speaker, and it doesn't have talkback installed!! How do i change this and what is wrong!! The radio works awesome rx/tx, but it just has this...

Have you tried using a different mic that you know is working properly? If it still has feedback, then someone has installed talkback. Take the top off, check for a resistor between external speaker and pa speaker ports. Remove resistor if it is there and that should remove the talkback. Hope this was helpful.

Fm radio/speakers

check that there are speakers! stupid as it sounds, sometimes there are just covers with holes behind...

If there are speakers trace the wiring through to the source make sure it has been conected both ends...

Or check the balance & fader on the set.
