You could try to use a 1 -1/2 inch stiff putty knife.

Kenmor model110. 92478100 cc5152491 will not agitate and will no empty water

Hello Friend, It is possible that the water pump has ceased or has blockage in it preventing the motor from functioning the washer. It's easy to check or replace the pump on your machine. First, remove the two screws that hold control panel in place and tilt back exposing the two metal clips that hold the cabinet in place. You will see some wires plugged into the cabinet, just unplug them. There are two clips, one on each side. Just pop these clips off and lift cabinet slightly from back and tilt forward. At this point you will be able to completely remove the cabinet. Once you have cabinet removed just set it aside. Now, you can easily remove the pump by snapping off the two spring clips. The pump will slide right off the motor shaft. Happy to help, Tim.

How do I get the top to pop open? I thought you just stick a screw driver in and pop it up but its not working?

The old ones used to be like that but these newer models are built to remove the cabinet. How do they do it? They pop the control panelup and release clips holding the cabinet to the base then the case/cabinet is easily removed.

Machine does not spin...makes a noise

your drive coupler is most likely broken. It is located between the motor and transmission.very easy fix.you will need to take the screws from the face of the machine out and lift the face .make sure to unplug.their are 2 gold clamps that hold your cabinet in place.take screw driver and pop clips out.pull your lid switch connection loose and pull cabinet off.you will see your pump in front bottom of machine.remove clamps that hold pump in place then remove the power clip from your motor.remove 2 clamps that hold motor in place and your drive coupler is their.it will be 2 white plastic pieces and a black rubber piece in center of 2.check if teeth are broke or if craked.

Model lat9557aae: how does the front of the cabinet reassemble - the clips (at the top) popped off, when I opened it, before i could see how they were oriented and anchored.

Go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number you provided. Look under the "Cabinet" heading at item number 5. The clips should be placed in the openings at the top of the front panel as shown. It may take a little effort to reinsert them. This is a common problem sometimes when opening the top panel. I do not know how you opened the front panel, but for future reference, insert a putty knife at the point of the clips and push in to release the top panel. This may prevent them from coming loose. If the clips are damaged and you wish to order new ones, the part number is 22001650 and is sold as a set of two. If you have questions, or require additional assistance please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Cant get the back panel off the washing machine

If it is a top loading washer the cabinet itself is actually removed from the back panel and base frame.

1. Remove two trim caps on either side of the control panel, they are just plastic, and clip in place, either remove by hand, or if they don't come right away you can pop them off with a flat blade screwdriver.
2. Remove two screws (now visible with trim removal) that secure the panel to the cabinet.
3. Panel should now be able to pull up and out, flip it back on it's hinges.
4. Disconnect the wire harness from the lid switch connector, this should be the only place (on most models) where wires connect from the control panel to the cabinet top.
5. Remove the two gold clips that secure the cabinet to the rear panel of washer, they snap into the cabinet, and should pop out easily with a flat screwdriver, this can be difficult to figure out which way to go with the screwdriver, the best I can describe it would be to slide the blade of the screwdriver into the front of the clip (about 2 inches below the cabinet top) and then press the screwdriver back over the top of the clip for leverage. It should pop right out.
6. With the clips removed, you should now be able to simply tip the cabinet towards yourself and pull it right off of the frame. The washers "guts" should all be accessible now.
Hope that helps.

Most likely you need to replace the lid switch.
Open the lid and make sure the actuator that pushes the switch is still attached to the lid. Use a pen or screwdriver to depress the switch through the hole in the top of the cabinet, you should hear a click as the switch closes. I usually find that the switch has actually broken off from the cabinet and is hanging loose in the machine.
To replace the switch
Remove the screws that hold the console to the cabinet. Flip the console up and back like opening a car hood. unplug the wire connector for the lid switch. Pop out the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off the machine base. You can now replace the switch from inside the cabinet.
If you need further help, please post the complete model number from the washer so I can see exactly how your washer is set up.
