Maytag Bravos washer flashing code F50, will not spin

Maytag Bravos Model # MVWB850WQ1, will not spin. Instead it flashes code F50. I have removed the impeller and the inside tub to see if anything was stuck between the tubs. Didn't find anything. What could be the problem?

Looks like another motor/motor control panel replacement. This machine has a faulty motor/motor control board, it has been re-engineered with a replacement. Has yours been replaced? Have you found the tech sheet behind touch panel and placed machine in service mode to test? We had the same issue, worked sporadically, didn't drain, got LR code then eventually stopped working. Check your spin in service mode, if it doesn't spin properly you should find out here. It is a very simple repair in all actuality. Contact Maytag and they will sell you the parts for a discounted price, make sure that you buy directly from Maytag, also check your boot very carefully since that part will also fail and allow water to get into the bottom of the machine where you have electronics.

Remove the top panel by unscrewing the 2-3 screws along the back side and then slide the panel towards the rear of the machine and take the top panel off the unit completely. You would then look down the back side of the machine this is the diagram to the tub area of your unit http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/K0810345-00002.png your unit is controled by a stator assembly which has a stator sensor also known as an rps sensor. These are what are directly responsible to how your unit spins and turns without this sensor your unit would not go into any type of spin or agitate function at all. Did the screw look as if it came out of the center of the stator assembly? Also did you move the stator assembly or the sensor at all? Even the slightest movement to the sensor would stop the unit from going into any type of spin function. Your issue is in between parts 351, 350, and 360 on the diagram shown above if the stator assembly does not spin freely inside of the rotor then this would be one reason of why your unit is not functioning properly as well as if the sensor has been moved at all this could be another reason as well or if the sensor has malfunctioned at all this could also be another reason to the issue at hand as well. Does you unit give you any type of error code at all? In my opinion you may have to replace the sensor as with most rps sensor they go bad very easily and show a fault situation even easier. If you have any further questions message me back I await your reply Thanks Rick

My maytag bravos washer is flashing DL, what does this mean, its not spinning!

The "dL" error code appears when an item inside the washer prevents the lid from locking properly. Open the washer and readjust any items that may be hitting the lid. The error code should go away once you properly close the lid

My washing machine starts on normal and within a minute it starts to flash F50. what does this mean?

Check Maytag.com for computer codes relating to your device. They provide full information for all of their machines online and this sounds like a common code number.

Does not spin and gets super hot f50 fault code

F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation. Does basket turn freely? If not, determine cause of friction. If OK remove the console to access the machine/motor control assembly. Visually check that the P5 and P10 connectors are inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual checks pass, tilt machine forward to access the bottomof the machine and the drive motor area. Remove the motor bolt, then the motor cover to access the motor connections. With an ohmmeter, verify resistance of motor windings.

F50 fault on maytag MTW6500TQ washer after apprximately 1 minute of startiong cycle

Two things cause the dreaded F50 code. (motor)

1. The machine control

2. The stator

The upper cover of the stator comes in kit form and has been known to also cause the dreaded F50 code.

All of them are some what costly repair(s) in my book but cheaper than a new machine.

I have yet to change a Stator for an F50 Code.... but have changed a lot of machine controls (most often failure) and stator cover kits (occasional failure) that corrected the problem.

Just being honest. Thanks for using FixYa!
