When your computer boots up what does the screen show exactly? Does it just stay black? Make sure that the cable from the Monitor is connected first. Then check to see if you don't have a usb device connected because that will cause the computer to hang if it is set to boot usb devices in the bios. If you post what it says I can help you out. You can also try to download a program called a Boot Disk and it can help you repair your MBR on the hard drive.

Well, you might have not properly connected you hard disk to the laptop when re assembling. This happens because the boot up is not detecting your hard disk or anything to boot from.

Check with a bootable disc, if its coming, then the hard drive is not detecting. Try again after fixing the hard drive.

Acer Aspire85 wont boot anything

You need to get into Bios Setup when the pc first starts.

I am not sure but I think the F2 key lets you into Bios Setup

The primary boot device needs to be the Cdrom drive.

The starting order for the pc needs to be set to
1st Cdrom
2nd HDD

You should then be able to install Vista.

Acer 2300 Travelmate wont start up

my guess is that your ram got loosed a little bit. that is why some of your system files are not loading correctly. Try re-inserting you ram or memory. just always remember that computer parts are very fragile so do not force to dislodge anything.

Windows will not start.

if you can get afriend to download Hirens boot cd and burn it for you
set BIOS to boot from cd use disk and check the programs on it
Alternatively get a disk called ERD commander this boots and allows you to fix things in operating system that might recover your operating system so you do not need to reinstall it
