Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

1 Answer

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2.0GB not allowing me to erase files

One of the folders saved on the flash drive will not let me erase the files therein. When I erase something from that folder, "domain.dj8" pops up as if it is a file in the folder.

This folder is named: "Main Identity", and it is the only folder that is giving me a problem. The other ones let me erase with no problem.

Additionally, sometimes when I try to eject the drive, it tells me that it cannot be ejected because it is in use even though it appears not to be in use. Please let me know how to fix these problems. Thanks.

How do you save files on a sandisk cruzer flash drive?

Insert the cruzer into the usb port. You should see a message pop up and say new hardware found and then flash off. It may also say usb memory or storage device or even recognize it as the cruzor. This recognition process is fairly quick say 5-10 seconds. After that the computer knows what the cruzer is and its ready for use.

The cruzer is now seen as another drive or storage drive on your computer. Your hard drive is usually C , the CD/DVD would be D drive and the cruzer would be seen as E. If you are in a program and want to save to the cruzer you open the file/save and you should see E drive or Cruzer if not click on my computer and look for it there. Once you find it just click on it and then hit save/ok. Thats all there is to using one. Once you know how to find it as a save option or a loading option then you just treat it like a hard drive.

Once you get it sorted out you will use it a lot. They are very handy.

Assuming you have the drive hooked up to your PC, you should be able to open the drive using My Computer. You can simply open the folder and drag and drop any files you wish to save onto your SanDisk drive.

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB 8GB that is only allowing me 1.33 GB of space - says 6.594 GB used and there's nothing on here - how do I gain that storage space back? tx

There might be a hidden file(s) on the drive that are taking up that space. Open the drive in My Computer, click Tools > Folder Options... On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders. Then check the drive to see if any hidden files or folders are present.

You can also try formatting the drive. Right click the drive in My Computer and click Format...

Check the format. Make sure it's compatable with the operating system. Also check the size of your documents folder. If they are compatable, maybe there is something wrong with the flash drive.
