SOURCE: My 8 months magic chef

Warranty: all models carry 1 year warranty on parts and labor and 5 years on the compressor.

if your unit is under the warranty I would not suggest you try to fix this yourself and instead call the manufacturer and seeing how you have had it for only 8 months and if you did take the unit apart then it would void your warranty I think it would just be better for you to call the manufacturer you can also see the pros and cons of the unit on this site as well http://www.winecoolerexpert.com/magic-chef-wine-coolers.html if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations in the future. Thanks Rick
p.s if you bought this unit at home depot return it there Thanks again

SOURCE: My 8 month old magic chef wine cooler model

If it is 8 months old it probably is under warranty call magic chef they will usually send someone out. Have your purchase stub ready or they can go by the manufacture date but that might be over a year.

Hi

The temperature control is normally in the inside top of the unit, sometimes at the back, sometimes at the front.

If you are competent with electrics its a fairly easy repair, only 2 wires and the ground. Do not confuse the interior light wires with the thermostat.

Switch off and unplug before starting work

Undo the screw holding the internal light, remove the cover

Knob generally pulls off or may have a small screw under the knob cap, then find how the casing is fixed, remove the casing the thermostat is fixed either with 2 screws or 1 center knut, be careful when removing the capilliary (looks like a thick silver wire) don't damage it you really will not like the smell.

Replace exactly as removed, takes lots of care and patience, use your cellphone to take images for reference if your not certain

Regards

Gordon

It sounds like it is in the correct temperature range. You may ned to adjust the temperature to a lower setting.

My beverage cooler MCBC58DST wont stay cool after it reaches target temp.

Throw it out and get another model from another company. Their units are junk!
They last a year, at best. Them and Magic Chef are one and the same...so you may have to bite the bullet and get a real unit.

Good luck. I speak from experience...I've had four now. Complete junk!!

Wine fridge is not getting cold anymore

Its really hard to determine without proper diagnosis, but are you sure it indeed has a compressor? does it run ? Does it have a circulating fan inside? A lot of the wine coolers I've dealt with were "Peltier" coolers. They use electronics to cool usually only to about 10deg below room temp. They require a load ( in this case wine bottles ) to operate properly. They don't have a cold control like a refrigerator.

MCWC52B wine cooler stopped cooling, compressor hot

Turn it off and place a small electric fan by compressor to cool it down.
When you turn it back on, see if you hear a clicking noise. This would indicate starting components need checking.

THE UNIT DOES NOT COOL ANDY COLDER THAN ROOM TEMPERATURE.

does the compressor run ? if so you could have a low refrigerant charge, a sealed unit resrtiction, leak or defective compressor.
