If its about as big as your little finger in diameter it may be but if its an inch or larger its a manifold heat tube that comes up from the exhaust shroud on the header pipe which is used to preheat air on really cool days.. its usually around a foot long and flexible(bendable) and made from flexhose..parts store sells by the foot if needbe..its like an exhaust patch..they will know when you tell what car it is..(normally)

No oil pressure, camshaft position sensor error,

Yes, the sensor is in small housing the goes in the hole where the distributor used to go. That also drives the oil pump so don't drive it you'll ruin the engine. It's located down under the throttle body, near transmission end of the engine.

Where is the egr valve located on 99 mercury sable v6 3.0 litre

It is located at back of engine on top between the engine block and front windshield. It usually black or chrome in color and looks like a disk with a small vacuum line coming from the top of it.

1989 Mercury Sable, 3.0L V-6, Auto Trans. Engine Idles at about 2000 RPM.

Check your vacuum hoses (They are 3/8" Rubber hosing on the right side of the engine, you will need to remove the air intake piping (Also remove the throttle body to make accessing them easier) This is the #1 cause of high idling in the 3.0 OHV and 3.0 DOHC sable engines.
